    1. Used to have to use the can shim all the time when repairing and or custom fitting bike parts. Always worked great!!

    2. My seat post on my gravel bike has a double layer of drink can shim. I actually learned this technique from reading "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance ".

    3. Need to go back to one bike for the whole race, stick the tri bars on for the TT stages. Get back to basics. Also get ride of race radio and the team cars. Standard support car for all the riders (like the Olympics)

    4. Yup, I had to mount a 25.4mm drop bar onto an even older 26mm stem and thought: where do I get a very thin sheet of metal?. Bought a can and went around in my office asking: does anyone want to drink Coke? I had to drink it myself in the end. No Coke lovers here.

    5. One of the best hacks of all time. The can cuts better with regular scissors or a knife. The aluminum is so much thinner and is so much easier to cut.

    6. On my hack bike, the front mech clamp was too large in diameter. I used a penny as a shim about 10 years ago. It's still going strong.
