I Love This Place – Bosnia and Herzegovina – P2T EP12

The twelfth installment of my 5000 mile solo road trip to the Balkans on board the mighty BMW R1250 GS Adventure.
In this episode, I fall in love with this country already and suggest spending a few days riding here if you can, it really is a wonderful place – but please don’t ruin it! haha.

Foreign I’ve just had a little uh Swig of my mineral lemon water but I’ve managed to find some GPS signal for this and it’s managed to figure out where I’m going because I don’t have any cell phone data now but I’ve driven around this town a couple of times it’s quite pretty

Actually it’s called Lee linov leanov again I’ll put a route somewhere I’ve already been told off by the police because I was going to stop in this square and they were like no that’s what I love but yeah it just looks like any other normal fan with all the chapped out sea

Outs and stuff pretty cool quite like it I thought I was gonna have a nightmare with the sat nav I thought it was just gonna go oh no you don’t have any maps to go down this part of the world of course it wants an update but everything does isn’t it update

You like it it’s weird following a different NAB system now to be fair it it’s all right this this nav is it’s good when it’s connected to the bike and you can yeah you can select all sorts of cool things about it that into into great with the motorcycle

But I think it’s just because it’s Garmin that’s the problem because this is the one I want to lift oh what I’ll give them a lift mate I’ll give you a lift without a helmet and bike well less luggage he’s probably like oh youth today I fought for these

Yeah so far it’s a lot prettier than I thought unlike anywhere there’s there’s always you know nice houses and bad houses it’s just life isn’t it there are a lot of graves though and I think well as I whiz past I can make out the little uh Muslim star

Thingy what’s it called the moon thing um that’s where it is I don’t know so I guess it was part of that horrible piece of History religion’s got a lot to answer for isn’t it why can’t people just accept that other people believe other things another marks we’ve got honestly every

Cut every other car out here is a Mark II golf yeah I mean I’m all for people believing in religions but surely tolerance should be a fundamental basis of all religions right no and that’s that religion has been manipulated for power which arguably most of them have been this looks pretty cool

If I close my flaps on the helmet is that better I mean I can hear there’s less wind noise through these little flap holes but obviously I’m getting roasted but I’ll do it for you boys you know okay everything seems shut as well so apart from the bars and stuff

Whatever a bit of a view of this wow oh Junction okay now they’re flying it reminds me of uh the game road rash this Terrain do you remember the game Road Rash it was really cool used to Ride Along on motorcycles and hit other people with chains and bats and stuff

Just when you think that you can’t see any better stuff go over another Little Mountain rise and then this landscape which I never thought I would I just didn’t think Bosnia would be like this I just didn’t think it and it’s beautiful so it’s very beautiful

But so far the people seem friendly Okay this is happiness and this smells good sort of mix of the Florida and fauna fantastic hey I think the solid whites are sort of more like guides out here well that seems to be what the locals do and again the speed limit seems to be some guys are real sticklers and other

Guys just don’t give a like really couldn’t give a honestly this country you’ve got to come here so far it’s been bloody brilliant I met a guy at a petrol station he’s in a car but he he now lives in Poland or something but he’s from here

He’s got a bike obviously we’re talking about bikes and stuff and it’s just really friendly he’s just really everyone was just really nice he’s like oh cool man have a great trip where are you going I was like going here there it’s like great oh beautiful lovely bike it’s just cold

I mean I love it here I think it’s brilliant and all this about no one’s taking cards I’ve been in the couple of shops now to get drinks and I got the cash out there like no can we have a card instead or something yeah sure

Not that I’ve got the uh actual Bosnian currency but it seems they take Euros anyway so did most places Hungary did Croatia did beautiful but me it suddenly got hot wow that what’s wave of that heat God it’s like being in an oven what’s up to 37 again

38 look at that three eight are we gonna see a 39 that’s the question right well that I believe is mustard down there it’s a bit uh Tower blocky but I think there’s a big difference between the Old and New Towns uh we just hit 39 degrees and I’m pretty sure

There was peaks of 40 in there little pockets so uh yeah I think I’m gonna have to start adjusting my trip to travel in the mornings I just get up really early and get to where I’m going before two o’clock because as soon as it gets past two’s job’s

Okay so now we need to figure out where the the hotel is I’ve not pinned it in here oh yeah that’s Center I mean this is gonna do us nothing so we need to go Old Town ladders I’m pretty sure it’s not down there I mean I haven’t got any data on

My phone either I mean let’s just go to the center it looks really nice though Let’s find a shady spot and check out the old mappage okay let’s go right here oh no there’s a monster BM BMV let’s go there see if I can get some Wi-Fi actually it’s not a bad idea these trees are nice shading me that’s the remote

Yeah let’s go to the uh BMW dealership see if we can get some whiffy okay do you think these are all bombed and stuff in the water probably Oh I thought they says the BMW spot is literally come here somewhere it’s supposed to be there but unless those standards have gone way down

And it’s not there it’s definitely not there Old Town it’s nightmare what do I say about coming to cities puppy robe was closed to jump over a curb I don’t think there’s parking for this place either what is this come on all right I think I found a way about to

Enter it to look for a restaurant but I think we’ve got the right thing on the Sat Nav Now if I look at the state of my arms absolutely roasted okay but we’re here we’re here and I’m definitely gonna have a bit a bit a beer

And chill out get the old laptop out and um just chill for the afternoon because it’s only 20 to four so plenty of time to see the city and probably either stay here a couple of days if it’s good or uh get on to Sarajevo early
