Hardtails aren’t dead!
Full-suspension bikes may be on every rider’s wishlist, but the humble hardtail still has its hoard of hardcore fanatics.
These bikes have their benefits, such as lower cost and weight, less maintenance and the clean, uncluttered lines of a rigid frame.
They can also give you the option to go custom, go wild, stand out from the crowd or a bit of all three!
But which hardtail should you buy? We’ve chosen five of the hottest hardtails you can get your hands on in 2024.
Well, four you can actually buy. One of them you’ll have to wait a bit for – or become an Ineos Grenadier.
Would you buy a hardtail in 2024? Or are you a full-suspension-forever kind of rider?

Full suspension bikes are most Riders bread and butter these days but there’s still a whole lot of loveing out there for the humble hard tail every time we feature one we get flooded with positive comments as an Ode to these rigid rear end rigs can you guess our five picks
For the most lustor hard house you can well mostly Buy in 2024 Yeti’s legendary Arc may not be new for 2024 but that doesn’t mean it’s not one of the most coveted hard tails around the stunning carbon frame is the latest in a long line of Glorious Yeti heart Tails from the ARs of the ’90s through to the Unicorn c26 the frro and
The ultimate Yeti has tried to mimic the loops chain stays of those Classics with carbon fiber and combined with the low long top tube and drop chain stays the result is one of the cleanest looking hard tailes we’ve ever seen the internal cable routing also helps to keep the
Lines uncluttered it’s not just a show bike though the arc is built for shredding the trail the huge pressfit bottom bracket area and sturdy tube shapes mean the bike is perfect for getting the power down the carbon layup should mean you get a comfortable ride too that bottom bracket also gets ISC
Go5 tabs so you can run a chain guide to prevent drop chains from damaging that glorious carbon The Arc isn’t just a jumped up XC bike either with the frame designed to take a 130 mm travel Fork to iron out the rough stuff this is a
Proper Trail hard tail being a few years old The Arc isn’t the most Progressive in the geometry department but it’s certainly not an outwire either reach on a size large is 465 mm while the seat angle is plenty steep at 76° the change days are 433 mm long leaving only the
67° head angle as something that looks conservative compared to some other hardtails like kona’s Hanzo ESD with a 63° angle it does include Shram us udh though so is compatible with the Brand’s latest ttype Transmissions which feature on some models on the subject of models The Arc is available in four complete
Bikes and one frame only option the frame cost £ 1,999 or $2,100 while the base C2 starts at $4,199 or $4,600 and the range tops out at $8,400 for the t4xx transmission in the US or the £ 6599 t 3 here in the UK we covered The
Arc in a previous video so check that out with the pop out Banner at the top of the screen up there if there was one hard taale that really grabbed the headlines in the last 12 months it was pinero’s Dogma HT while the Aesthetics are on the polarizing
Side compared to the yeti you can’t deny this CrossCountry race machine has pedigree and race winning credentials Pauling foran proo piloted the bike to double Glory at the cross country World Championships in both the short course and Olympic distance events to France stage winner Tom pitcock rode to Bronze
In the short course on this bike before swapping to the Dogma hd’s full suspension sibling to take gold in the XO not bad for a weekend’s work racing is in the dogma’s blood and nowhere is that more obvious than the design of the bottom bracket and seat tube Junction
Two small struts join the down tube seat tube and bottom bracket together to help optimize frame stiffness and pedaling performance there’s more unusual detail ailing in the rear end of the bike with both the chain and seat stays featuring an asymmetric design the non- drive side of the rear triangle is reinforced which
Pinell claims helps the bike to counterbalance forces into the drivetrain for a more balanced energy transfer as is the trend on many CrossCountry race bikes the Dogma features a one piece integrated bar and stem with internal cable routing modern XC courses are pretty hardcore these days and crashes aren’t uncommon so the
Frame features an internal steering lock to prevent it being damaged if you stack it during a race at the time of filming the domma HT is still The Preserve of Inus granded team Riders but we’re hoping to see it fully bought to the market later in
2024 if there’s one bike we’ve been as to vure more than any other in previous top five videos is banshee’s paradox designed by UK native and Company owner Keith Scott the latest Paradox V3 is completely reworked from the previous model with not a single part remaining
Design for Forks ranging from 120 to 150 mm of travel as well as 29 in or the now lesser seen 27.5 in plus wheel sizes the aluminum frame has been designed using finite element analysis simulation which the brand claims allows the strategically machined and forged Yoles and dropouts to offer a level of
Vertical compliance unmatched by other aluminium frames the brand says that each Forge component works together to take the edge of the sharpest hits other frame tubes are hydrofor to help achieve the same goals and maximum maximiz frame performance at the same time internal ribs in the seat stays and chain stays
Maximize stiffness and strength to weights for Superior efficiency when pedaling and better control when riding on the Ragged Edge to keep you from going over that edge the paradox’s geometry is bang up to date reach on a size large is 474 mm while the head angle on all sizes is 65° the seat
Angles also get steeper as the frames get bigger ranging from 76 to 76 1/ 12° TI 425 mm chain stays should also keep the handling Nimble if you need to make a last minute line change unlike the others in this list the power dogs is sold as a frame only for $799 or
$999 would you choose this over the more expensive Yeti let us know down in the comments we’ve had carbon and aluminium bikes so time for a steel Steed Mason’s raw is a UK made trail bike that is equally happy shredding in the woods as it is ADV adventuring out in the Wilds
Packed with bags following on from the Brand’s Boker and in search of Adventure Sport Bikes the raw is Mason’s first true flat bar mountain bike built in the UK by five land bikes the raw is designed for forks with 120 mm of travel tested by the brand supportive Rider
Josh ibet on the notorious hd550 it’s clear the raw isn’t afraid of the odd Ultra endurance event the frame is made using a combination of data zero and Reynold’s 631 steel tub and has a whopping 15 integrated mounts for bottles bags and accessories for loading up with gear those more interested in
Shredding there’s room for 29x 2.6 in tires and the short seat tubes means you can fit a long travel dropper post even on the smaller sizes the geometry is also on the versatile rather than the single-minded end of the spectrum the head angle is 66° with a sank 120 mm
Fork while the reach is 471 mm on a size large these are neither overly slack or steep but do show just the kind of Rider Mason imagines the raw to suit being handmade from quality tubing on home soil means the raw is not the cheapest around the frame is available on its own
In four different colors for £ 1,695 or is a frame set with a rock shock Sid fork for £ 2,395 complete bike starts at £ 3,795 for the SLX build and you’ll be set back £ 4,695 for the rang topping GX axis build with Hunt’s proven race XC carbon wheel
The raw was one of the bikes we pitted against the yeti in a recent group test so keep your eyes peeled for the review on our website Soon you really can’t have a list of Hils without a titanium frame thrown there into the mix mots is one of the world’s most prestigious titanium frame manufacturers having lovely crafted bikes since 1981 for 30 of those years they used only titanium the one bolt named after its namesake Trail in Mount
Eda Arkansas is the Brand’s titanium Trail hard tail built around 140 mm fork and 29in wheels like most of the other bikes in this list the geometry is modern without being overly Progressive you won’t find any 63° head angles here the wble sports a modest 67.1 degree
Head angle a fairly steep 75.7 de seat angle and a 450 mm reach in a size medium to cope with the intended riding moot says the wble sports proprietary double buted top and down tubes that are said to be the largest diameter tubes it has ever created this should give the
Bike enough brwn to match its obvious Beauty if your legs feel as bronny as well you can choose to have your one ball set up with sliding dropouts for single speed use even without any Brash branding the neat Wells and distinctive 3D printed Dropout design mark this out
As a stly put together bike worthy of the mot’s name if you desire though you can add some flare to your wble with a whopping 12 finishing options alongside the standard brush number these do come at an extra cost though which is significant for some of the more complex
Options like the hunter camo effect which actually brings us quite neatly onto the price frame only options start from $4,975 or £4,800 while complete bikes are from a hey $854 take every option available and watch the basket grow to an eye watering $133,000 we think we know the answer but
Would you ever spend this much on a hard tail let us know down in the comments The Humble hard tail may be past its Heyday but they are still a compelling option for many do you already own har tail did we miss anything that you think deserves a shout
Out let us know in the comments subscribe to the channel if you aren’t already and if you want to see how we built up two examples of the Same Heart then check out this video

I'm still gallivanting about on my 2016 Ragley mmmmbop. The frame and wheels are good and stiff, so it absolutely bolts up to speed as soon as I think about going near the pedals.
I run my tyres at around 25 psi which tames the stiffness quite nicely.
Pro Caliber is a worthy add to Hot hard tails that go fast. The Roscoe is worthy of this list cause it's just too much fun. Cheers!
Videos like this are a great example of what is wrong with the bike industry. £5000 hardtail frame… What a joke.
Still rocking my Sworks HT
Still love my Ragley Bigwig, hasn't had much use recently, really need to change that!
Nukeproof Scout 275
2021 BMC twostroke AL one. Got it down to 24 pounds with an alloy frame and midrange parts! Love that bike🔥
ARC is expensive and quite long in the tooth, so many better options out there
New merida big9 💯
Would you buy a hardtail in 2024? Or are you a full-suspension-forever kind of rider?
Lazy pointless.reporting. Get out and ride a bike and do a proper review or don't bother. I have just bought a brand new frame to build up a bike for my 2 oldest boys to share. It cost me £110, an On One Scandal. The bike I build will use parts from my current hardtail and will cost probably another £100-200 in parts for a very cool, very lightweight modern trail capable and user friendly bike. What's more, it will grow with them, starting with 27.5"+ wheels and 120mm travel and going on to 29er / 140mm. I am seriously considering starting up a YT channel to show.people how to get the most from bikes and not to be duped by a lazy, greedy narrow minded industry which lacks ideas and real drive. Bike companies are out of touch. Most people who ride will spend less now to feed a hobby they like just as much after the pandemic, Brexit, etc as they did before it. Stupidly priced bikes will become rarer. If a new electric full susser from 2022 is not selling for sub £3K,, it is an indication of the current market. If bikes reduced by half aren't selling, its an indication of the market. Do something different and try to help younger riders get decent bang for their buck, put some bloody effort in.
Massive fan of the ARC
Genuinely capable HT. The MBUK
Review was a bit contradictory so it was good to see it featured on this video.
Lot of MRP forks on display in this one – actually, with Pidcock's Axon, the Push on that Moots, and a jumble of SIDs, Pikes, 34s, and even an Xfusion McQueen on display on the Mason – I'd be interested to see a roundup review of all these 120-140 forks for trail hardtails. Since a lot of these are available frame-only and a hardtail really spotlights the fork performance it would be a valuable group test to see what forks are high-value.
Just got a totally kitted out nukeproof scout off crc for 800 quid – down from 1900 & it rips. 4k + for a hardtail is straight up madness
is dartmoor available in UK? the hornet pro is a great AL HT
