I found tons of these ruins on top of a remote Mountain on Google Earth so decided to go on an adventure to try explore them in person and see what they were but this turned out to be far more difficult a journey than I thought it would be this is really brutal from
Fighting my way through snow blizzards to getting lost in isolated mountain ranges this adventure really pushed me to my limits and Beyond but it was well worth it for what I found so let’s jump right into it welcome to episode three of my bike packing trip through Spain
Hola that’s all the Spanish I know B basically but we got a epic adventure as you’ve seen from the intro I found what looks like an abandoned Village in the middle of remote mountains in Spain I’ve got about a 4 to 6 day cycle to actually
Get there and then it’s close to 1,800 M up it’s going to be a crazy hike through some really remote landscapes in this mountain range is apparently a bunch of abandoned military forts so I’m hoping I can do that as well abandoned Village secret military base long cycle hikes
And remote mountains we got it all except mental stability I suppose but that’s Overrated I’ve just come to a supermarket I’m going to stuck up on some snacks I’m currently out I’m quite excited to see what Spanish snacks there are hola I’ve just left the shop and come into this nice little grassy area let me show you my haul I got some trail mix
Because I’m on Trails go fire chocolate waffle now there is one thing that I found though that I haven’t seen anywhere before Dorito bites I’m going to give it a try I’m going to eat it like this it’s okay I prefer normal Doritos to be honest but I appreciate it
Being different and it’s kind of cool that it’s in like a cylindrical shape so shout out to That here is where I’m going to grab a ferry I think if they run on Sundays which I will find out in about 20 minutes if it does go that saves me so much time if it doesn’t it’s a big detour made it on the ferry they do go
On Sundays which has saved me so much time which is wonderful I mean I still got like 5 days of cycling to do but this saves me like 20 to 30 mil of cycling which could be a whole day which is awesome I’m going to Titanic
Myself no I’m not going to do that we’re heading the sand There land Hoy so now I’m just going to start cycling out of the city probably got about another 3 hours of light So the plan is just to get as much distance as I Can Burger King time Parilla yeah that means have a Burger King if you’re bike touring I got a big burger chili cheese bites but I’m also a man of health so I also got myself a salad as if that’s gonna do Anything good morning everyone I had a rough sleep last night or maybe lack thereof and I sat and looked at my bike all packed up and ready to go for maybe half an hour just being like I do not want to get on my body was sleepy and
Cold and just wanted to be lazy but we’re on we did It This morning’s a tough one I must say legs are not into it at All gra that was a tough morning cycle to be honest I am feeling it today but I’ve got coffee and I’ve got I don’t know what you call this but it’s super good it’s like potato and cheese they give it to you with bread so I got two of
Them I’m hungry boy struggling a bit but I reckon coffee and some good food should give me the energy to keep on pushing cuz we do still have a lot long way to go Today oh I hate Hills OH another Hill how Glorious it is so hilly today and it’s good training because this steepness is nothing compared to typ of mountains we’ll be going into tomorrow or the next day so hopefully Harden the legs today for that so this is actually the Camino de Santiago it’s like one of the most
Famous Brew hiking trails in the world but I’ve been following it basically all today and I think that’s why it’s been such a brutal session cuz this is you know primarily done by hikers and Walkers alike so it’s not really designed for a bike that’s been strapped
Fill with about a million P your bags but it is cool to to do such an iconic Trail guys I have found something very peculiar by the road it looks like some sort of cave I’m already wearing a helmet so I think I got to go in and check it
Out yeah this is crazy let’s get the light on W what is this place wow keeps going further this way getting a bit tighter W wonder how big a drop this is down there not too bad it looks like a could go a bit deeper that way but I’m not squeezing
Through that not on my own anyway oh let’s get back to the bike it’s left by the road that was crazy my knees are not loving the cycle at the moment so that crawling around was tougher than it should have been we have made it to the hotel for tonight I
Was was n sure if I was going to Camp or hotel it and today’s been brutal I’m like I’m treating myself all righty good morning everyone it is a lovely sunny morning and I definitely slept in quite a bit today is also the day of going into the mountains which is both
Exciting and scary but before we get there I am going to be cycling through some beautiful little Coastal Villages first so we have that to look forward to before we head up just leaving the village now what a wonderful name what a what a great name that is so
I’m just heading out of that I think that signs hilarious I’m a child I also forgot to mention I got this snazzy little squidgy thing for my seat my you know back end has been getting slightly sore throughout the constant cycling and so this right here lets my cheeks rest at
Ease I don’t know how well you can see that up ahead but that is a big old mountain in front of me don’t know how interesting you’ll find this but I thought it was really cool this is actually a vending machine [Applause] Pharmacy so I’ve just come up to the this abandoned Town it looks pretty big a good couple of buildings so I reckon we go check it out this is the start of the ruins but look at it here it’s like a complex of buildings W this seems to be the only way through
The ruins is this house which has definitely seen better days okay I found a way into the sort of main area it’s all like walled all around and seems to be like a bunch of just ordinary buildings but then with this huge cathedral in the center of it all I
Couldn’t find much online about this place place except that the church was built around the 13th century there wasn’t any information as to why it was abandoned but it did say that this area has experienced some floods so perhaps that’s what made people leave that was
Super cool I’m going to head back on the road and continue on stay tuned for the next part where I make my final push to the ruins I found on Google Earth and fight for my life in a snow blizzard and if you haven’t seen the other episodes
Of my bike packing Adventure through Spain then make sure to go back and give them a watch thank you so much for watching this video and I’ll see you in the next adventure
