Can you have a good night out in… Peterborough?

Dale & Holly head down to Cambridgeshire and into the Cathedral City of Peterborough via a quick stop off in the lovely village of Coates!

14 Pubs ventured to, including a fair bit of walking in the soaking rain… but hey… there was work to be done!

Well good day uh welcome back to another episode uh it’s a Saturday in February uh We’ve we we’re on the way to peterb bar that’s our that’s our mission for today but somebody commented on our post on Facebook uh about stopping in if we

Were on the way to petar uh in a little village of coats which is just past Whittle SE uh so we’ decided to come and see the they’re on the vine here dog friendly we like Holly Z look hi hi the vine looks nice looks very modern from the outside lovely looking

Little village this so uh we’re going to do this on our way into Peterborough enjoy the video guys see how going to get done today this is really nice they put a lot of time as this they’ve only been here about six six months or so but

They’ve put a lot of time and effort you can see how clean and vibrant and fresh this feels in the air it’s lovely it’s dog friendly got um got a visit from camera this morning as well and Camera went away and you can probably see why because they’ve uh take some real pride

In what they’ve got on in here it’s only a few minutes down the road from Whitt seat so it’s really not far Whitt is a nice little town it’s got six or seven pups and stuff in it um as well which is well worth a little Vis got J box and

Stuff in it the rugby going on fire in a corner say it’s dog friendly Chris and J they’re lovely people well worth com well we kind visit especially if you’re in this sort of area anyway um got nice Village Green and stuff that’s a lovely outdoor area top little place really

Glad we stopped here that was a really nice little stop off uh I’m glad we decided to to detour and and see them they they’re lovely guys they definitely love their pu and they put a lot of effort into making it look really nice because apparently used to be a bit

Rundown from what we’ve heard before um so we made to piz bar we’re here uh Hotel checking done we’re quite close to the railway station and this behind us is part of the car park for that massive Queensgate Shopping Center so we’re going to start our Peter bar with

Something that sounds right up my street the Brewery Tap love a good Brewery love a good Tap Room definitely in need of a beer uh wow yeah this place is quite impressive o males so you’ve got really good stuff on asss mie four more of the O that’s Citra

Uh is very very nice I’ve had that several times before big fan of that but this place is beautiful great selection of stuff wonderful looking just have a look around how beautiful it is in here obviously i’ got the uh the rugby on on the big screens and stuff first floor

Seat in air and stuff looks lovely but it’s just um it’s just a beautiful looking place inside guys what a great start to uh to pear had some beat in this absolutely stunning that Brewery Tap is very very impressive uh they’ve got a sister pub called Charters which is another one of

Those that’s uh on a narrow booat so I’m well looking forward to doing that that will be pretty wicked but uh we grab some really quick Munch so we’ve walk through the bus station and we are just going to today is quick and easy and

Cheap grab a uh quick bike to eat in weather SP C the Draper’s arms uh and is on this sort of high streety bit I think there’s a few more pubs and stuff down here where we stopped to in pet bar the drap arms it’s dead busy like Anyway goes all the way

Down horrible carpet though look at that had a bit of munch ready to rock and roll the boss says ready to rock and roll on we go right the good news is it started raining I did get away with it all day yesterday in Tamworth without

Getting wet but I’m not going to get away with it again today so as you can imagine Hol is well Happy love the rain yeah well happy uh right about four or five doors down from the first little weather spoons of the city e Blind Tiger

Uh craft beer that’s what it says looks nice in there so you know me this craft beer I’m going in this is lovely here so I’ve gone for a a sour obviously in any craft beerer a pastry smoothie sour too much 8% pretty nice I have it

Again but it’s a it’s a nice looking it’s a it’s a modern feeling craft beer house but they’ve got a really really good selection up on Taps and things in it a load of selection a loot of good stuff great looking cans and things in the

Fridge in it I mean there are some absolute bangers in that fridge I can see some Yonder ones I mean I’m falling in love with Y on the brewery um yeah it’s a really really good choice trying to get you into out there so that’s the beer board I’ve gone for

That number six sour too much and it is uh it is very very nice I am I really like this place I think it’s a a great little craft here mod modern feeling sort of place this is Top Notch weather might be crappy but uh Blind

Tiger was great and I tell you what it’s beautiful this must be uh this must be the cathedral I would imagine right smack bang in the city center how beautiful is that and it just happens that our next Pub is in the shadow of it just across the little square is this

Beauty called the Queen’s head this looks very very nice um apparently they do really good pizzas so I’ve been to but we’ve eaten already so it’ll just be a quick beer yeah Queen head up next yeah before I go in that might be part of the that that rather large thing back

There so maybe ignore me it’s beautiful whatever it is be selection stuff in here Mega busy Mega busy nice place it’s very very nice in that Queen but it’s mega mega busy no chance of sitting down whatsoever um wonderand across the square in there in the view of this wonderful Church

Cathedral whatever part it is and Stoneworks bar just here um nice a lot of people people have sort of shouted out the this one to us to come to so this is our fifth stop within Peter bar here we go dedicated craft beer house got uh over 20 in here um they’re very

Difficult to read very difficult to navigate the uh the sideways trying to say way I I got neck a trying to read it so it’s difficult they would um definitely benefit from one of those more modern boards and stuff got some uh can and bits in as Well Shuffle board table up there um That You Don’t See very often the old the old shuffle board table uh long narrow it’s nice enough in it but yeah that the beer boards they could definitely benefit from one of the more modern digital ones St I asked the girl for a sour if they

Had a sour I don’t really think she even knew what I was talking about so um I’ve gone for a gone for a pale from Brew York can’t go B with that uh OB the rain is absolutely torrential now we are getting absolutely soaked walking around

This trying to get to the ones that people suggested um cuz they’re obviously the better ones and this was one that we desperately wanted to come to but Tes about 15 minutes to walk out of the out of the city center past that beautiful C Charters so this is the

Sister Pub to the Brewery Tap apparently so does thae food and things as well apparently it’s a it’s a floating barge you can see I mean the water is incredibly high already around it whopping right yard it’s gone here so I should imagine in summer in the he of

Summers this is something absolutely amazing I’m going to go and say cuz I’m getting I’m absolutely soaked and the next one we wanted to go to or the one further down that we want to get to two or three the wonky donkey there another sort of 12 13 minutes walk in the other

Direction as well so a lot of the beautiful pubs in Peter bar seem like they’re very very spread out and it ain’t good when it’s pissing it down we rain like this chars anyway okay so this place is pretty impressive so is yeah the sister Pub to the brewery we waited

Earlier so you’ve got all the and stuff like that on on the bar that you would expect to find and it is it is a barge so we’ve come down down the uh down the stairs um into into the and you feel this floor you feel like you sort of it does feel

All wonky um and it’s just brilliant it is just a lovely Wicked place um it feels a bit surreal being this is probably this is certainly bigger than the barge in New York that we went on and is well I know I got soaked getting

It but it was well worth the walk coming it plenty of real hours down the bar and stuff as well um and other stuff going it is is a really really good really great place and with one of our followers here’s a wave hello introduce yourself to the people I’m Aiden and

Way to the uh to the wonky donkey so yeah our next stop is the peacock yeah it’s a friendly sort of local style prob it feels like so it’s a little bit out of town it has to come over the bridge so we walk probably about 10 15 minutes

To to get here from the town at least but yeah it’s friendly enough um everyone’s place have some speed dating on tonight but it doesn’t look like anyone’s turned up shame on to the wonky donkey look how way I am after another miserable 12-minute walk in this horrible horrible weather we’ve made it

To the wonky donkey the one that people told us most uh well first they told us it in peterb City Center which it definitely isn’t uh but the one that we had to visit so we come to visit and I’m soaked and I’m looking forward to it and

Always it says outside a community p and that’s exactly what you want is it something literally it’s down inside the house in the middle of the house about the and stuff like that my hair is so wet man um it is yeah it’s a community Pub a community Spirit Run by

Lovely people top place it is it was it was worth a walk this would have been nice if it wasn’t raining getting Uber back to to I tell you yeah the wonky donkey is absolutely superb it really is uh I am glad we went down there despite the weather the rain

Has let up a little bit but we didn’t walk back it would have been it would have been a 31 minute walk uh back to get up to it so we’ve come up to the Bumble in next uh which uh was recommended To Us by the wony dong

Definitely come up and do this one there a next to a nepales and Indian Cuisine place I love a bit of nepales are uh up next to Bumble in uh I’m starting to dry off ever so slightly but not massively but yeah thus far Peter Bar’s pretty

Sound just just a bit spread out yeah I’m glad we came up here um nice friendly little micropub it’s got real LS and stuff on it is very nice in here it’s a nice really uh vibrant thriving little little microp you know you know I love a micro um I’ve got seasider in

Here I’m seasider for ages got a peach one it’s very nice um yeah micro pubs are always my thing and again this is another really good example I’m glad we came up here from the wonky donkey but I’m really glad we got a taxi really glad there’s there’s

Actually a beer a beer menu stuff in that’s what they doing here nice some tiny Rebel stuff on there a big fan of tiny Rebel and Vault City Bananas Foster Fierce VA City collab tow oh all good some really good stuff on here it’s only that’s it’s a

Really nice little micop puup the the bumbling so we’ uh 2 minutes down the road uh and turn up the corner the ostrich established in 1837 it says side uh it feels like I’ve been out since 1937 it does uh apparently this is another good one so a lot of people

Suggested it uh Chris and Jaan have met us they’re going to show us around for a little while which is nice always nice to meet people when we’re out and about so up next is the ostrich here we go very impressive there again is so busy load of good real on the

Happy liking it but look it’s absolutely pack it’s also dog friendly there are some dogs down here and around po table in the far Corner follower just there there a wave but yeah this is a uh this is a wicked wicked little Pub this is in

Here I don’t where H’s gone I’ve lost her I didn’t do it deliberately I promise I did she’s over there somewhere half a club Cho coming it for a little bit long just down just down this back end of the pub so it’s really cold in it I’m

Really I’m really impressed by this wondering uh out and around the corner I absolutely love the ostrich that is that is a wikip pub that band is superb as what I played in there uh would have stayed in there all night but you know business to do it’s hard work sometimes

But we just have to keep on plotting on uh and go and get the rest of it done three to do is going to be this big one just here three us called the Henry Royce this one used to be a Yates so I’m

Told so it’s going to be a bit of a late night party puff it looks like there’s a lot of late night party Puffs in P to be honest so uh quick one in the emry Roy yeah you can tell this one used to be y

Still it’s still even fields in it so you got to D more plenty of big big old space and stuff like that classic sort of cocktail machines and bit but they have got some hand pumps although only stuff on it at the moment yeah big old

Pub big old PB this you know something you can change the name of a pub but it will still be what it is and that is still Aces I don’t care what anybody says uh and this I know we know EX what we’re getting in this already so we’ve

Done a few of these big Irish Shain o’neals so this is the penel stop of the night for me it’s been a hella weekend so far it’s been a it’s been a long weekend got our nails and then just here’s the other weather spoons that

We’re going to finish off with a nice C pint in weather spoons towards the end but yeah O’Neal’s is up uh up next and then we’ll go over and see that one so here we go you’re not going to be a hear me but yeah Typically I also have a decent enough t on the tap so I’ll tell you more outside where you can actually hear me is you always know what you’re getting I said to be fair the beer selection in there isn’t really bad at all I C of Brew dos I had a punk

IPA uh and yeah you always know what you getting I mean during the daytime there sports places friendly enough normally quiet and vibrant and stuff during the day good good meal deals like 2 for 20 good meal deal stuff like that and and they’re just all right really and then

Yeah night night time they turn into a high of activity um and that one yes you can see that one is vibing up uh ready for the night ahead but this is it for us final one of the night is the college something SCH College arms College arms weather spoon it’s a

Beautiful building it’s much nicer than the other weather spoon College arms that is it for today speak you in a minute once we had to look around in there and we’ll say what we think of peterb but yeah it’s been a it’s been a long weekend and I’m still getting wet

And I still don’t care and this is the last last one of the night then I am in search of some food and my bed never thought I’d be so happy to see a premier In a mission hey r a mission everyone seems to tell us that this is the the rougher of the uh the spoon in the town and um it’s definitely a younger crowd and stuff in here um Dorman are I wouldn’t say they’re the friendliest uh

In the world and stuff either but I mean they’re not very good cuz uh it is snowing if you get my drift a lot in the gens toilets upstairs um and they’re just uh the ltin they’re very Brazen as well all just three three in a cubicle

It’s just I don’t know I get I get I get the understand it I understand why f is the rougher one of the spoons um we haven’t seen anything particularly bad it’s been all right but um yeah that was Peter bar so uh I’m off to find some
