Bike packing Europe 2023 Day 10 EuroVelo-13 from Seedorf to Hitzacker

Welcome to the 10th day of our bike packing trip in Europe in 2023. Today we cycle from Seedorf to Hitzacker in Germany The trip follows a scenic route via the River Elbe Our mileage today will be 115 kilometres And includes 137 metres of elevation

From Seedorf we follow the EuroVelo-13 route to Neu Darchau And … Once we have reached Neu Darchau, then … We go to the opposite side of the Elbe, where we follow the river to Hitzacker Where we sleep tonight at our Warmshowers hosts On the road again …

I hardly remember the name of my accommodation It was deep inside the forrest and there were many mosquitoes I needed to ventilate my tent, as it was a bit humid I was lying on my air mattress And then … I was attacked by mosquitoes But now I realize the chain has slipped

And now I have around 30 kilometres left to Hitzacker Nearby Drethem, Germany Tießau is a quarter of the town of Hitzacker in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony On this map, you can see today’s route compared with the EuroVelo-13 route

The red one is the Eurovelo-13 route and the blue one is today’s route Today we followed and completed EuroVelo-13 stage 85 And took the first half of stage 86 Stage 85 is 167 kilometres in total and starts in Travemünde and ends in Boisenburg

Stage 86 is 98,6 kilometres in total and starts in in Boizenburg and ends in Schnackenburg in Germany. Tomorrow we will reach EuroVelo-13 again in Luckau (Wendland), after taking a small shortcut from the route More about that tomorrow
