Calanques National Park in Marseille France is a must-see. We chose to rent bikes and pedal our way along the Mediterranean Sea for about 90 minutes (each way). The views were spectacular and the biking was fun, too.

The Calanques is about 33 square miles and its land portion is spread over three areas: Marseille, Cassis, and La Ciotat. The sea portion of the park is about 168 square miles.

The Calanques is the only European national park to include land, sea and peri-urban areas. It has about 140 protected land animal and plant species as well as more than 60 marine species!

“Let’s go” has pretty much been our life’s motto since we met nearly 25 years ago. We met in New York, moved to San Diego together, and married in Lake Tahoe – all within five months. When you know, you know – you know what we mean?

Now, after raising two adventure-seeking boys, we are ready to get out and explore some more. Our children have begun their lives and now it’s time to begin the second-half of ours.

We wanted a challenge and something fun, so we are starting an adventure of a lifetime. We’re calling it #60×60. Our plan is to travel to 60 countries by the time Kim turns 60 (that’s in 6 years by the way).

Today we’re nomads in about calanque a national park just outside of Marseille France we took about a 90 minute bike ride from the old port to here it’s a little sketchy because the roads are narrow but the French drivers give you so much room there’s no problem and it’s

Well worth it coming out here to this beautiful landscape [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] The kolenka is a series of rocky cliffs and Bay’s that stretched between Marseille and kasi the entire 20-mile stretch is a national park and has been protected since 2012 [Applause] [Applause] So I sent Li off on his own to do a little exploring because we are walking on very steep cliffs with loose and slippery rocks I think I’m just happy sitting here and enjoying the view [Applause] [Applause] Kolenka is a corruption of the Corsican word forget that and this entire limestone area has been lifted up and over the millennia eroded into tiny little phase it’s also a unique bio area that there’s no soil on top of the limestone the plants grow We’ve just got back to the old port after about four hours on the bike and a couple hours hiking the very steep rocky cliffs it took about an hour and I have to get there cycling and then you can spend hours and hours there hiking there’s a beautiful trail selphie along the coast

That’s rugged and a little dangerous really that limestone gets really slippery and polished with so many people walking over it yes it does you really got to be careful and then there’s some trails more inland that you could even run on it was about 86 degrees today with about 61 percent

Humidity with Russia earlier this morning payin for it now bring lots of water the trails are all pretty well marked I loved riding the bike our bikes along the sea well it was your first time on an e-bike oh yeah yeah the ebike is great if you haven’t tried them it’s

It’s the way to go I hope you enjoyed our little tour of the Columbus cheers Cheers the calanque ease the calanque good khalakka is a Calaca is little bays same sure that was
