This is Part 1 of my trip heading to Nordkapp, Norway, on my Honda CB500X travelling from home in the UK to the port of Harwich to catch the overnight ferry to the Hook of Holland

The whole journey took me through the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and into Norway right the way up to Nordkapp, the furthest point you can travel by motorcycle or car in mainland Europe and then back through Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Belgium and France over a 7 week period late May – mid July 2023

I am back in the UK now, but please do add your comments and I’ll get back to you.

Hoping you can “Like” the video, as this does help the channel.

All my best wishes, thanks again for watching

    1. Hi Nick,
The screen extender, heated grips and more road orientated tyres should have made a big difference on this trip.
I started with an eBay cheapie, and after it fell apart replaced it immediately with a Puig one. Wouldn’t be without it now.
I went with soft side bags, a sixty litre roll bag on the pillion seat and a Givi Trekker Outback aluminium top box.
I found the Givi stuff, racks etc fit the bike perfectly and when I’m not touring the pannier bars clip off, although I leave the top box on because I find it so useful.
Thanks for this vid. Looking forward to future episodes 🙂

    2. Safe travels. Have visited Norway 🇳🇴 many times and it is one of the most stunning countries I’ve ever visited. Look forward to watching your journey 👍

    3. Been looking foward to watching your travels again Nick. Would love a mini review on those Heated grips.

    4. Hello. Nice to see a big trip again with the 500X. Have one and still in love after 36.000km😊 about the Lomo bags, do you have a rack for that? Have a nice trip✌️

    5. Hi Nick
      Got a question to you😮
How do you find the rear brake? as someone who has put the mikes in, I ask as I don’t think it’s fit for purpose, I’m tempted to change the pads, but as my bike is only 4 months old, I’m wondering if it will affect my warranty,
      Will be following you again

    6. This should be a very enjoyable series of videos.

The longest journey starts with the smallest step. How did you manage to get 7 weeks off to do this trip?

Btw your map at the end has the River Blackwater east of Chelmsford labelled as the North Sea.

    7. Hi Nick, what a great adventure and looking forward to following you along the way 👍 safe riding and waiting for the next episode 🏍🇬🇧

    8. Just joined here….really great, I like your gentle approach to things…one question, how is your bike kept from not falling over, straps etc and bike protection….it look a bit chaotic as to where you had to go to park up, I live in Jersey and look forward one day of taking my bike over to France, just wanted a bit of a heads up as to the mundane parking up and what the procedure is….safe riding and I look forward to your big adventure and will check out you previous one…..cheers Karl….my bike by the way a 2023 Honda NC750XDCT…

    9. Just found your channel Nick. You've done some great rides and tours. Really looking forward to the next episode in the series. Stay and ride safe.

    10. I will be tuning in to see whether you managed to turn the trip around after suffering the devastating peg loss incident so early on! 😂

    11. New viewer. Thinking of a solo trip to Norway next year on my bike so looking forward to more of these. One wish, that you had shown the tie down process on the ferry. I'm a bit dubious about how that works. Thanks for the upload.
