Hilly cities normally have a low share of cycling. How come that Trondheim, the third largest city of Norway, has the highest share of cycling compared to all the other Norwegian cities? We believe there are there reasons:
1. Trondheim is a university city with 30 000 students, 90 % of whom using their bicycles as their main transport tool
2. During the last 20 years, there has been invested more than 20 mill NOK in a bicycle roads network and bicycle transport infrastructure in Trondheim
3. One of the most important infrastructure elements is the bicycle lift Trampe. Since the opening in 1993, it’s pushed more than 220 000 cyclist up the very steep hill BBrubakken in the historical heritage part of the city center
There is no doubt that Trampe has inspired students as well as other people living in Trondheim to take to their bicycles. In a user survey, 41 % of the lift users claim they’re using the bicycle more often due to the installation of Trampe.
Close the center of Trondheim in Norway to find the world’s first bicycle lift Champa while sitting on your bicycle tramper takes you up the steepest hills smoothly and easily the lift in trondheim is a gradient of one in five and a speed of three to four miles per hour the
Cyclists may enter the lift continuously every 10 seconds without question increasing the use of bicycle in heavy populated areas will have a positive effect on the environment meaning a better standard of life for everyone our patent-protected system ensures a cyclist a smooth start and a safe ride of ilk

In Almada, Portugal, the elevator at the Mouth of the Wind in Cacilhas, serves the same effect. It leads people and bicycles to the Cacilhas prá zone of the city. Peter Axe
Muito bom. Dava um jeitaço em algumas ruas do Porto.
I have seen something very similar in the past. The flight deck catapult on a NAVY aircraft carrier!
Although the carrier catapult can push a 60,000 pound aircraft to 200 MPH, there were days when we turned it down to 70 MPH and got in some skateboarding practice.
What a strange thing!! Also Trondheim was the city where the GSM net (used in mobiletelephone) was developed.
We need this is San Francisco! What a great idea — could Norway get any cooler?
I havent seen it before. What a creative idea…Maybe its easy but think is so difficult..Congractulation:)

@uDie2Nit3 it's good for folk like me who don't have a lot of stamina but can ride on flat land fine.

@AlwaysThrowROCK San Francisco needs a few dozen of those. Plus a few hundred in the East Bay and another hundred or so in Marin County.
I live in Trondheim and my question is… WHERE THE HELL IS THAT??
Must be a Hell of a thrilling coast back down! Winter closing date? Soon enough prevailant world wide as the American idion the V-8 engined gasoline luxury cruisers are replaced with much more practical realities?
