    1. This movie was absolutely terrible. It was appallingly immaculate and did Napoleonā€™s genius or military rise no credit. It reduced epic battles down to nothing. Waterloo was nothing but a light infantry skirmish, a half hearted Calvary charge, and then Blucher shows up? it went on all day. No columns, no platoon fire, no massive cav charges, no artillary exchange, no hougoumont. Austerlitz was simplified down even further to something pathetic and unrecognizable. Napoleanic War nerds have been waiting for an epic that covers Bonapartes start in 1793 to Waterloo and this is what we get?? What a travesty.

    2. Jesus what a lousy misdirection!! How do you screw up a Napoleon movie by Scott and with a Phoenix!!? They made it seem like his obsession with Josephine caused him to conquer Europe. They made him so shallow!! I mean, it looks great and Joaquin Phoenix does a good job, but Scott really did a poor job directing it. What a shame!

    3. Gotta say I just struggled to watch the first half and then I had to call it quits… not sure who was more bored, me or Joaquin? (That poor guy looked soooo bored, as if he would rather die than be in that mess of a movie.)

    4. With all the love for Phoenix, this is clearly not his best role… Firstly, he is old for the young Napoleon, not quite similar in appearance and plays half-heartedly. Clearly they overpraised the talent.

    5. Well movie tells a story about Napoleon (that story is basically a general knowledge). Its good movie but there are quite few movies that tells the same story.

    6. One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Flaccid , indifferent performance by JPhoenix. Terrible editing that simply jumps from one scene to another without any connection in between. JP wears no make up and looks 60 y.o. playing 28 y.o. Napoleon. There is no character development everything is stilted and looks like poor made for TV production where no body cared about the story or characters. Unwatchable.
