Test Ride Tour BMW R1300GS, December 2023, Spain

Now this is how you end the old year in style! Watch us hitting the roads of beautiful Andalusia on our first BMW R1300GS test ride in December 2023. Edelweiss was among the first to receive the latest BMW R1300GS models fresh off the line in November 2023 – and we wasted no time putting it to the first test in Spain only a month later! From winding roads to challenging terrains, we experienced the power and performance of the brand-new R1300GS as we navigated the breathtaking beauty of Andalusia. What a blast!

When you read a motorcycle review it’s got to get two things across one is specification wise technically what the bike does but really the only thing you care about is the right is how it feels cleaning was the hardest part but right now it’s just some small adjustments for the Customers I’m just going to have some minor adjustments made to my rear brake bring it up a little bit it’s too low and a little adjustment here on my front brake as well all is good though otherwise so just going to enjoy the day here in Malaga I I’m looking forward to

Getting on this thing Oops first riding day on this exciting tour first first touch first kilometers on the new BMW 300s we’re going to tell you a little bit what’s uh going on today and then we go to go try how you doing I found my bike you can me

Yeah it’s going to be great as long as we uh stay upright it’ll be good oh wait good to go [Laughter] [Applause] excited [Applause] W [Applause] [Applause] here we are we’re uh in Andalusia having a beautiful time the bike has performed exceptionally and I can say that because we rode through the rain all day the safety features that the bike has are outstanding it would be difficult to appreciate them on a sunny day So the main thing for me is organizing all the luggage in the morning I take care of uh all the stuff and then I organize everything in the hotels uh what has to do with the food and uh of course the the luggage we take care that

All the luggage is on the rooms I’m the a little bit the back office for the tour guides if if they have a problem they call me I try to solve those problems uh which is very important for them then they can focus on the on the

Right uh and I take care of all the things uh a little bit more behind the scene let’s say okay but I like it I love it everybody’s there there are still a few missing but they’re downstairs at the at the garage so I have to go down now pick them up set [Applause] so today uh motto of the day is a closer look at Andalusia always ready born Ready like it I like it a lot very smooth easy to ride shifting is nice power is excellent It’s good di [Applause] [Applause] guys yeah it’s settin Neil the town where the houses are built in the in the Rocks yeah so approximately 1 hour okay don’t trust him don’t trust him we we will see never trust this guy good ride very good a little pissed oh my God it was so beautiful the

Weather’s nice and Cooperative with us the roads are fantastic there’s no traffic got great people you know only problem is this guide here I don’t know I’m not guilty whatever not guilty he’s been awesome they’re doing a great Job It’s been a lot of uh fun technical riding um all the roads have a lot of Curves and it makes for fun riding every day we stayed in in some beautiful places including this one uh so far um just amenities are incredible super service oriented they go the extra mile

To try to um meet all the needs of everyone just really a lot of fun all all three guys uh have been wonderful we’re here in beautiful Arosa frona we had a really nice riding day yesterday it was dry we had perfect roads we could test the motorcycle a

Little bit we could push it a little bit to its limits uh so the performance test is done on the first day we got a nice impression of Andalusia it was a little it was a little wet but we are here to test ride the motorcycles so we had wet

We have the wet condition test done we have to performance test done today we go to JRA alar so we have a border crossing which is kind of exciting maybe and let’s see what this day brings to us I mean the weather looks fine let’s see what we get [Applause] Wait wait Singing in the Rain I’m sing Hing in Rain what a wonderful feeling I’m happy Again This is one of those unexpected Little Pleasures that come when you travel and you just stumble on something completely unexpected this was freaking awesome freaking awesome That’s a cute little guy almost makes you want to have one but I hear they poop in their own hand and throw it at you so so they tried to take they tried the uh Spaniards tried to take Jabar from the British and a Shepherd LED 500

Of them up the East face of the Rock on a shepherd’s path yeah 1704 they they were discovered and made prisoner so then they destroyed the shepherd’s path so that uh it couldn’t be used again it’s pretty cool I wouldn’t want to climb this Rock Finally how about that road huh did you know that that is the best Road in all of Spain it’s too bad we didn’t see it yet that was crazy yeah it was hard to see long day that was special but we made it it’s time for a

Cocktail where’s the room this is what you look like when you do mountain passes in the rain and you can’t see anything as Jim Hyde likes to say Adventures aren’t always fun while you’re having them apparently it’s a beautiful road to ride when it’s dark

And wet and cold it’s uh on your third gear all wet but we’re wild I couldn’t see my glasses were completely fogged I took them off and then the the the rain was hitting my eyes and I’m just kind of like I’m just going to focus on the lights in front of

Me tell me about the wine you’re something it’s red it’s red thank you that’s how we do It In the middle of Andalusia and it’s spectacular away from the tourist away from everything great writing a lot of turns oh fabulous Fabulous Oh we just were taking the curves and the turns and getting around traffic and it was a lot of fun the buildings in America you know they only last yeah 40 60 years whatever maybe more around here these are hundreds many hundreds of years old and they take good care of

Them they’re updated with wonderfully oper ating windows and Doors walking the streets of Ronda beautiful now we visit the arena it’s the center of bull fighting history in Spain It’s delicious special Delivery a wonderful trip and it was so cool to have this experience and to have a chance to ride the new 1300 because we’re not going to get him in the United States for several more months so it’s kind of fun to have the first crack at

It to sit together with you guys and have some great conversations and laugh a lot always makes the trip as the camaraderie the staff was just great every turn every corner was just the highlight of my trip the ad Bo team all the people that came together I mean
