Center uh in a major safe road safety strategy overhaul Birmingham is considering a bold new safety strategy to reduce deaths and injuries by Road collisions drivers could be banned from using roads in the city center according to a draft document aiming to make the city more hospitable to

People why is it that all of these things that they introduced to make places nicer just involve getting rid of cars like I think what you need to do is make the Birmingham needs to do a lot more than just get rid of a few cars the council is also considering introducing

A 20 mph speed limit in residential areas re-rooting the a38 and making the city’s tunnels public transport only if you know Birmingham and B navigation through Birmingham is already a nightmare that that’s not going to help under the plans streets would be redesigned to reduce the speed and volume of vehicles the consultation

Were murdered in Birmingham to compare to that so we got 25 people killed on the roads bearing in mind we’re planning to get rid of all the cars because 25 people have been killed not withstanding the fact that some of those will have been cyclists that been run over by

Buses but just in the same way that the pollution that is made when building an electrical car doesn’t count cyclist killed by buses don’t count either that doesn’t count as a real death only counts if it’s a pedestrian who’s run over by a car we know this don’t we it’s

Rates have been on a steady climb since 2016 nothing to do with cars or roads what does the report actually say Birmingham is the most dangerous major city in the West Midlands and is among the top 10 most dangerous overall out of the West Midlands 44 towns Villages and

Cities uh the overall crime rate in Birmingham in 2022 was 145 crimes per 1,000 people uh this Compares poorly to the West Midland’s overall crime rate 17% higher than the West Midlands rate of 124 per 1,000 residents for England Wales and Northern Island as a whole Birmingham is the second most dangerous

Major city and the 245th most dangerous location out of all towns cities and Villages wow there’s 244 places that are more dangerous than Birmingham uh in December 22 Birmingham had the worst crime rate in the West Mills for bicycle theft again like moving everybody from their cars to bicycles your bike’s only

Going to get nicked anyway 50 crimes reported and a crime rate of 0.04 per 1,000 inhabitants December 2022 was also a bad month for residents when it was the West Midland’s most dangerous area for burglary 801 crimes at a rate of 0.69 per thousand residents Birmingham recorded 905 reports of criminal damage

And arson during December 202 2 making its crime rate of 0.78 the worst for criminal damage and arson in the West Midlands that month winner winner chicken dinner probably from a takeaway the most common crimes in Birmingham are violence and sexual offenses hey what a lovely place to live with 76,800

Offenses during 2022 given crime rate of 66 I guess they give out some sort of award at the end of the year um the mayor of Birmingham comes up and collects his award for the most sexual offenses in his City well done uh that was actually 1.6% lower than 2021s

Murdered I did Google that and I came up with a number of 50 but as I said then my phone died and I can’t find where I found that number but when I was Googling to try to find out how many people were murdered in Birmingham in

2022 instead I found a really nice article uh from the Birmingham mail which is their top seven crimes of 2022 and seriously I I genuinely wish I’d never read it I’m going to put the link in the description go and have a look for yourself again nothing to do

With cars but there are some seriously heinous things heinous heinous hey bad there’s some very bad things going on in and around Birmingham so let’s make sure we’ve got this absolutely straight 25 people are killed on the road and we ban all the cars but the crime rate keeps
