    1. Remco less dominant? Did you see how much and how hard he pulled. He was confident enough to win the sprint because on the climbs he was hurting the others more than himself.

    2. Vollering=AVDBxAVV+a sprint. Plus having AVDB as her trainer and in the car really help her, whatever you may think of SD Workx overall tactics.

Backloaded keeps the fight for the win more exciting, but it makes the rest of the racing less exciting because the 15 riders who think they can be on the podium do not do anything all week either. And they are some of the strongest riders in the world. It was of course lovely to see Kastelijn and Bauernfeind win stages, but it would be better I think if there would be a fight between Niewiadoma, Labous and Moolman in those kind of stages.

What about a Jonas- Van Aert scenario for the TT. Reusser leading and Vollering slowing down to let her win. Not impossible IMO. Vollering did the Nationals TT after she finished Tour de Suisse the day before and drove to Holland overnight.

I hope Kasia gets the reward for her efforts, her and Labous were doing all the work all week while Moolman was just following like always. And nice story Kopecky, but she would have lost a lot more time to the others if Vollering had attacked earlier.

    3. As a huge AVV fanboy and someone who can't get behind Remco, today might have been my least favorite racing results day of the year. That said, chapeau to both victors for showing their class. In Vollering's case, the torch of best GC rider in the Women's peleton wasn't passed as much as it was ripped away and put up on an unreachable shelf. Demi is poised to dominate for many years to come. Remco has a much tougher road to GC success but another San Sebastian is just a matter of time.

    4. This is a good topic for future….who is gonna compete with Demi in the future? Avv retires? A lot of good young riders coming through but who is consistant enough for gc for tours? maybe sharin van anroy if her climbing improves a bit.

    5. Just want to say that the GCN commentators Marty McCrossan, Dani Rowe and Hannah Walker (I think) were also exceptional on this historic day, they matched the intensity of the finale.

    6. I think Remco said it himself that he is a bit undercooked at the moment, a few watts off of where he wants to be

    7. > How can you say that AVV could attack Kopecky with 2km to go and gets yellow, irl she dropped Kopecky with 5km to go and barely passed her in GC.
      > I warned to not underestimate Kopecky's climbing on your review of the first stage. I predicted that putting 1 minute into Kopecky is difficult and that is exactly what happened. I would have predicted a top-10 spot, 6th is maybe a bit stronger than I expected, but I knew she would be up there. Actually, everyone should have known, at the beginning of the season there was a lot of talking about Kopecky losing 3 Kilo while pushing the same Watts and she could already survive 2km climbs before that.
      > Realini is not a complet rider, so maybe she can lose time in cross winds and such, but if she does not, … Also, she is very young, this year she can follow Vollering, maybe next year she can drop her.
      > Reusser MVP? I had the impression she was saving herself as much as possible for the TT.
      > National champs TT in the Netherlands was the day after tour de Suisse. So Vollering beat AVV after riding 4 stages, Vollering is good pick, I'd still go for Reusser though.
      > Maybe Remco does not want to do a 70km solo one week before world champs.

    8. Somebody tell the guy the only day JV paced 6W/kg before the final climb was Joux Plane and Pogacar certainly didn't feel bad there. Stage 17 was 5.3-5.5 on Roselend and Longfroy, around 6 on Courchevel Le Praz. Hard but not super hard and not the reason he cracked. The guy has also put time into MVDP and a group with Wout, Kung, Asgreen and company in a headwind flat 15km section after a 6-hour race. Certainly one who struggles on hard days eh…

I love you guys. Keep up the good work and enjoy your honeymoon Benji.
