A massive wave tossed kids who were watching the high surf in Santa Cruz along West Cliff.
Video taken by viewer Craig Pearson shows on-lookers near lighthouse point trying to see the high surf hitting the Santa Cruz coastline when they were hit by a massive wave.
After the wave crashed over the cliff the two kids were tossed back into the nearby shrubs.
With waves getting as high as 20-feet the video highlights the dangers waves can have. Luckily, the kids appeared unhurt and looked like they had had some fun.

Many of videos aren’t from Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz really didn’t have any flooding. The low lying areas that always get flooded during winter in Capitola and Rio Del Mar flats were only areas impacted and they were cleaned up and reopened in a day. Not nearly as bad as last winters storm or others we have had over past century. Lots of media hype though!

Half these clips aren't even Capitola and are Ventura and other areas. The main rogue wave clips were at Seaward Avenue in Ventura. And Morro Bay got hit hard too leaving many vehicles and RVs buried. Wonderful assortment of clips… but at least have the locations correct.
And ps. Aside from some random incidents and damages this is the winter surf we dream about all year long and is normal.
