Cycle Touring Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way – Bike Touring West Ireland.
Cycle touring Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, a 2,500km road up the west coast of Ireland, from Kinsale to Derry. The stunning Irish coastline lived up to the hype, and we would cycle the Wild Atlantic Way from South to North over 3.5 weeks. In this episode of the bike touring adventure, the British Isles cycle tour continues. On our cycle tour through Ireland, we’d ride from Cork to Galway, through wind, hail, and rainstorms. Despite the changing weather, the Irish hospitality we were treated to on our journey kept us going, as we were invited into local’s gardens and homes night after night.
CONTEXT:
In 2021, Jill and I were on a long-distance bicycle tour from Sussex to Shetland, for a movie date at the most remote cinema in Britain! Cycling so far would take us over five months, through pretty much all the terrain the British Isles has to offer.
Cycle touring as a couple was a first for us, and would take us through England, Wales, The Isle of Man, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland, finishing on one of the most remote islands in the UK: Out Skerries, in Shetland.
Big thank you as always to Jill for some fabulous cycle touring B-Roll!

Great bike touring documentary. I live and bike touring here in America. 👍
Great video! Being Irish and having done a lot of cycling around Ireland and Europe in my youth I've been following your Irish adventures. Now you know why they call the west of Ireland "the land of the sideways rain" 😄.
People don't realise how much work and effort goes into creating videos like this so kudos to you and thanks for such a well made series.
fair play to the swimmer🥶
Love it!!!!
Outstanding work here the journey and the effort to film it ,,as been said previously I saw another post ,your channel is way underrated! All the best to you .
From the USA /Irish 4 th generation
Lovely journey. Thank you for sharing. Nothing can prepare the soul for Irish weather, brutal! The jagged symbol is WAW: Wild Atlantic Way.
Wasnt first this time unfortunately, But oh Well at least Im here now

How come you didn't include any footage of the dingle peninsula?

Wow, what a fantastic video, you two are amazing and extremely resilient. We are inspired to go to Ireland, it looks stunning.
While there are plenty of folks who might let you stay on their turf here in USA, I find the idea of asking my fellow Americans for such…. intimidating.
Those Irish are so polite!
Wonderful video highlighting the beauty of the WAW. Sadly, Ireland, its history, culture and beauty seems to be a grey area in the minds of many British people and they do not think of it at all. Fair play to ye for taking the plunge. I am sure it was worth it.
Excellent, very inspiring. I'll be showing all of these to my pupils. Go raibh maith agat!
Funny Irish man ask to sleep the garden he get buck shot 😂😂
Loving these vids
Loving your adventures, makes me wanna get on my bike , people are so kind and welcoming ❤
Good thing you had your helmets on for the hail storm.
Spectacular cinematography… I've never seen Ireland documented like this and it's great advertising for our country. I hope Fáilte Ireland is paying you for this! Great videos and can't wait to see more 😀
Found you through the your Isle of Man video. Loving the Wild Atlantic Way video. Very well produced. Not sure how many countries people would take you in, but you can always count on the Irish to open their homes and hearts to you! Sláinte and safe travels!
Beautiful stuff lad. New subscriber. Im from NYC but my grandparents were all Irish and went over a lot my whole life. Driving the WAW is crazy enough and done it a few times. Cant imagine biking it!
Phenomenal video, I love the hospitality you are offered by the friendly locals. Brilliant storytelling and videography too, you both look like you’ve had a blast!
I love the idea of a cycling holiday. But the risk of being caught out in poor weather or stuck without somewhere to stay, absolutley racks up my anxiety.
For future trips, maybe carry a tarp with some pegs and use it as a makshift shelter.
this is why the romans called ireland Hibernia, Winterland
Really exciting and very brave off you both.
Looks beautiful though-
I just found your channel this weekend (3-4 June 2023) when it showed up in my feed. Congrats! I think YouTube has decided to show you to lots of people. I am dying of curiousity whether you continued on to Shetland or if you decided hail on the Irish west coast in September was a sign that Shetland in December was a bad idea. I hope you and Jill are well regardless. Still a STUNNING journey even if it ended here. Thanks for sharing it for those of us who don't have your guts.
Great video, fair play for covering that distance! You done Ireland proud 🇮🇪👍🏻
Drove the WAW a few years ago. Some of the most spectacular scenery I’ve ever seen. Stayed in air b&bs with beautiful friendly people, and experienced the best pubs in the world, with great music and craic
A lot to sea on the waw.
Hello! Just to let you know that IRELAND is a sovereign independent country. Tír nabh spleách.
Glad you enjoyed IRELAND!
Go n-eirí an bothar libh!
