Rylan Wilder was cleaning up at a Chicago music school when an armed bank robbery suspect, fleeing from cops, ran inside. Police later shot and killed the suspect but also mistakenly shot Wilder. Although he survived, Wilder wondered if his dream of playing the guitar professionally was gone. Eighteen operations later, he learned to play the guitar in a whole new way. His family’s lawsuit against the police department claimed “reckless” and “excessive” behavior. The department settled for $1.9 million.

furthermore if the guy was running why did they unload a whole mag into him.
The US ☕️
as a musician and beginner guitarist, i cant imagine the heartbreak of this happening, not only is it a traumatic experience to go through but to lose the ability to do something youre passionate about even if temporary is terrible
Wow… and tax payers have to pay for it.
*putting students' lives at risk
Welcome to America 😂
"Putting his life at risk to save others"
More like "putting other's life at risk to save himself"…
Not enough money
There's nothing heroic about being shity at your job.
The police comment at the end is so egotistical. Heroic actions? Hero's dont tend to harm civilian while taking out the bad guy. At best he was nervous and reckless. Zero awareness of his surrounding. Plus in the end, the tax payers paid 1.9mil while this guy gets praised and paid time off. Laws need to change, as long as police cant be held personally accountable they have no incentive to cross their T's and dot their i's.
In the Police Officer's defense he thought friendly fire was turned Off.
I missed the part where the cop put his life at risk to save others..
Did the criminal show restraint and did not fire his weapon in the presence of civilian than the cops? And shooting without aiming counts as heroic in America these days?
Typical trigger happy..
America, wow!
I'd take 1.9 million for a cool battle scar on my arm
