What is up everyone welcome back to another video today we’re going to be checking out Germany versus Netherlands by an American by the way so I’m guessing she will be comparing the two countries Germany and Netherlands which one’s better which one is better life economics and all that different things

You know food and getting this is just my thoughts by the way but yeah with that being said let’s get right into the video let’s see what we have here today don’t forget guys like if video subscribe to the channel really does support me and yeah let’s get right onto

It let’s see what we got Mr German man and I went to Amsterdam for VidCon and while there I noticed some differences between Germany and the Netherlands so here it is Germany versus the Netherlands from the perspective of this American who lives in Germany so for those of you that don’t

Know I’ve done quite a bit of Netherlands reactions on this channel I’m starting to do more of Germany videos as as well now so yeah getting a bit used to Germany as well so I thought maybe check out the differences here as well it would be quite Fun wanted Adventure posted by hey everyone I’m Donna and you’re watching wanted Adventure living abroad right off the bat I noticed something very similar in Germany and the Netherlands actually what is that people riding bicycles like a lot of them however if I thought that people I’m guessing like there’s more

Bicycles in the Netherlands for sure I don’t believe there’s more in Germany like is that even possible bikes in Munich a lot well then yeah people in Amsterdam ride bikes a lot a lot a lot from what I saw biking is even more of a thing there something that I didn’t even

Realize was possible but there are definitely a couple huge differences in biking style for one in Munich I see a lot of bicyclists wearing helmets not all of them but a good number of in Amsterdam however I don’t remember seeing a single bike helmet the entire time we were there not one another

Biking difference that I noticed is that in Germany I pretty much only see what I would consider standard bikes bikes that look like bikes purchased in a bike store in Amsterdam however oh my God I saw all kinds of biking Contraptions the Dutch really seem to take the concept of a

Bicycle take a standard bicycle and then add on other seats in the front in the back I saw really amazing One of a Kind modified bicycle let me turn this down a bit transformed to fit their family depending on how many children they need to abely of what ages they were

And what was comfortable for them all right so moving away from biking now another difference that I noticed right away was restaurant prices okay now I don’t know about other places in the Netherlands but at least in Amsterdam restaurants were pretty pricey definitely more expensive than anywhere

That I’ve been to in Germany and how does one pay for meals in those restaurants well that’s actually different too in Germany cash is King cash is accepted everywhere that I’ve been to here and I’ve also been to Big restaurants in Germany that did not accept I thought like everything would

Be with cards cards so just that’s something new wear whereas in Amsterdam we went to a restaurant right next to the convention center where VidCon was taking place and they would not take cash no cash accepted and I noticed that in a grocery store there was one lane

Marked with a huge sign saying that in that lane no accept it so yeah that was really different from here in Germany it really surprised me another difference that I noticed in the grocery store was the bread oh the bread it’s so fluffy in the Netherlands and a lot of the loaves

Had raisins in them I love that kind of bread gery I know you really pride yourself on your bread but I’m sorry I’m just not a fan of dense bread I like the fluffy bread like in the Netherlands and that’s me too type bread you need that

Fluffy bread bro come on with a hard crust and a fluffy inside just not such a fan of really dense breads sorry and as far as the people go something that I noticed in Amsterdam was how many people spoke English it just really seemed to me like almost every yep in Amsterdam I

Mean I heard that a lot of people do speak English which is quite surprising actually I’m guessing in Germany they do not spoke English in Germany a lot of people do also speak English but it just really seemed to me like everyone that I met in Amsterdam spoke fluent English and

Lastly regarding friendliness and customer service it was so crazy in Amsterdam really up and down from one person to the next so here in Germany I would say it’s pretty much in the middle from my experience the at restaurants and sales staff at stores don’t go out

Of their way to be particularly helpful but they also usually aren’t just Flatout rude either in Amsterdam we would go to One restaurant and the servers working there would be super rude I’m talking actually downright rude to us and then we’d go to the next restaurant or store and the server or

The cashier there would be chatting us up making small talk talking about the day really going out of their way above and beyond to be friendly to us so it was just really crazy to me how different it was from person to person that is in Amsterdam so my question for

You is what do you think of these differences that I noticed and what differences have you noticed between Germany and the Netherlands please let me know in the comments yeah do let me know as well in the comments below this question I mean I don’t really know how

To answer this since I still don’t know too many things about Germany I’ve never actually been to the Netherlands or to Germany so it’s a bit harder for me to actually answer that question but for you guys I’m sure you can try answer it you know comments below thanks so much

For watching I really hope that you enjoyed this video and also a big thank you so much to our patrons on it looks like that is it for this video I mean so yeah a lot of different things going on here the differences especially the like English language I’m surprised that

Germany they actually do speak English but as she did mention it’s not like they probably in Amsterdam they sound more fluent okay I can understand that but yeah still Germany I mean a good amount speak English maybe not as fluent as Netherlands but yeah but well that

That was a pretty interesting video so she gave us like how many points was it like three four different differences maybe five but yeah pretty interesting I must say so that right there was that was Germany versus Netherlands do let me know anything you want to add

In the comments below if you got any like video suggestions you want me to re react to let me know on the Discord server link will be in the description below so go check that out as well guys and that is it for today’s video thank

You all for staying till the end don’t forget to like the video guys subscribe to the channel and we’ll be seeing you on the next one peace out guys

    1. I'd rather ride bike-lanes all across the Netherlands than any car at the German 'no limit' Autobahn'.. !
      -Autobahn is soooo last century…
      -Drove 226 km/h in my New Beatle 2.0 turbo in 2003 haha…

    2. Some differences: To call upon on your hierarchical position as a manager right away means loss of face in the Netherlands, not in Germany! Paying with cards is one example of how far ahead the Netherlands is regarding IT.
If you're interested in the differences between the Netherlands and Germany — and you would understand German–, it would be worthwhile to have a listen to this German who moved from Germany to the Netherlands: Christian Fang's "6 Jahre in den Niederlanden: Warum Ich niet zurueck nach Deutchland gehen will" (6 years in the Netherlands: why I won't go back to Germany)

    3. As somebody originally from the Netherlands, but now residing in Asia, prices of eating out in The Netherlands is way higher than in Germany. Had a nice Asian stir-fried dish with rice in a small mall for only about 7 euros in Germany, whereas in Amsterdam we paid about 15 euros for a simple pad thai (Thai stir-fried noodles) and a small drink. But yeah, Amsterdam is not the rest of the Netherlands. A huge difference. English proficiency is probably better in Amsterdam than in less cosmopolitan places.
