The BSA 20…
“A BSA “20” is the same frame and componentry as a Raleigh “Shopper”. Its called a “20” because it has 20 x 1 3/8″ tyres.
The Raleigh company of Nottingham used the BSA name to apply to variations of it’s own bicycles.”

Hello again cuz we did a a BSA in the last video uh we figured we’ll pull out another BSA and uh do another one so here we have the BSA 20 so the 20 is referring to the size of the wheels which is a 20in wheel not the same size

As a modern 20 20 modern ones will say 20x 1.75 well this is a 20x 1 and 38 so not the same size as a modern day 20 now this was definitely a rally made BSA in the last video I talked about BSA being Birmingham Small Arms started in 1861 started manufacturing bicycles

Early Century motorcycles in 1919 uh but by this point they were totally owned by rally and I think rally was probably owned by another company on top of it so this one Bears quite a few rally Parts uh we made in England here so these are actually that’s rally

Pedals there which is one of their logos which I think is still on their head office today is it’s like a knight or something with a shield with r on it they’ve also got the uh like that last one we’ve got the BSA headbadge on there with the grouped

Rifles now we know the exact age of this one this one’s 1978 and that’s because it has the stury Archer 3-speed Hub on the back there and fortunately uh this one has the date on there we’ll see if we can find it there yeah we’ve got the 78 there so if we can

Focus in on that so that’s that’s referring to it being manufactured in 1978 a lot of the stermy Archer hubs are dated like that so it’s very very good uh a geared system inside the Hub so got a lever which pulls his chain and there’s literally a geared system

Inside the Hub so stery Archer got onto that very early early Century I think they first produced those it was just a most amazing thing of the time and you know they’re still manufacturing them today so at this point stery Archer was also owned by rally which is why the

Rally bikes had all the stormy archar on there so these are a cool little bike and it’s essentially a rally 20 there’s a rally 20 looks identical to this but this one is essentially made by rally in the rally Factory where they call it the BSA 20 instead of the rally 20 instead

Of having a rally headbadge it has a BSA headbadge so this bike in this condition it is ridable some collector can probably restore it uh I would think probably I might get $120 for this one you know the condition of it isn’t great but it was given to me uh by someone who

Just didn’t want it anymore so if we get $1 to $120 for it then we’ll be doing great so yeah not a bad little score stay tuned do the likes and all that type of stuff subscribe cuz there’ll be more videos coming
