Comrie Croft MTB. This unique MTB Trail Centre will keep you wanting to come back for more. If you are looking for the best Mountain Biking Scotland experience; Look no further than Comrie Croft MTB! Located in the heart of Scotland in the Southern Highlands, Comrie Croft is a must-ride trail centre for all MTB enthusiasts. With over 20km of trails, ranging from easy to expert, Comrie Croft has something for everyone. From the fast and flowy blue trails to the technical black trails, you’ll be sure to find something to challenge and excite you. So come and experience the best of Mountain Biking Scotland at Comrie Croft MTB! In Stage 1 we completed the Blue Trails and after a spot of lunch at the Tea Garden Cafe we headed for the Red trails.
So this is Stage 2 of my first visit and showcases the rocky and very challenging Red MTB trails.
It begins with ‘The Twa Turns’ junction and follows the High Woods Red Climb to Decision Rock. From there we decided to head to the very top. This is a very demanding rocky climb full of rock slabs but I have to say we really enjoyed it and it was a lot of fun. From the top we then completed The Rock Lobster and Stan Salvador Red Trails which are awesome. A very high level of concentration is needed so it was really important to look ahead and pick the right line.
We finished the day by deciding to complete the Blue trails again. Here is a link for the Stage 1 video which includes Active Track drone footage of the blue trails descent.

The Action Footage was filmed with a GoPro Hero11 black. The Drone Footage was filmed with a DJI Drone Mavic Air 2s.

I was riding a Specialized Turbo Levo.
I was joined on this adventure by Dave Richardson a ‘Jump Expert’ from Hawick in The Scottish Borders. His expert guidance encouraged me to tackle some Black Trail Sections (linked into the Blue Trails) that I would normally avoid.

  1. Woohoo! I made the final cut. Those red trails were challenging enough but I found the yellow ascent nearly defeated me several times. After I had fallen off for the nth time the only thing stopping me going back was that it was a shorter distance to keep going to the top. I need a better bike if I'm going to do that again. My old school 26er HT just isn't enough bike to let a rider of my low skill level ride such great trails.

  2. Rock lobster and Stan Salvador and proper enduro style trails hard even on an ebike but a fun challenge sometimes the drops all in the mind but once you try it's usually ok. Well ridden will have to consider going back next year, cheers for sharing Stoozer, all the best Gary 😁🤙

  3. Great video. Was at Comrie Croft yesterday with my son and it is unrelenting at times with rocks and roots. The trails are great and some are just too technical for me. Getting up some of the rocks was a real struggle. Big takeaway is that I need to look farther ahead rather than down at the front wheel. Big thumbs up to those who design and upkeep the trails.
