As we cycle in and out the Westfjords our mood changes every corner we take… We ponder about what makes this empty and barren place so attractive. Meanwhile on the other side of the island ‘Fagradalsfjall’ erupts for the second time, a volcano that we rode past just a few weeks ago. We arrive at the most remote place we have ever been and get stuck for a small week because of the weather. As we finally decide to give it a go, we head into the mountains but…

    1. Iceland sums up nicely what it feels like to live through every season in a day! What places have you experienced that… and can you recommend them for a ride? 😉 Thanks for watching & Have a great day, E&M

    2. The two of you have such amazing stamina to endure such hard cycling. I say this while I luxuriate in Florida on my winter getaway from snowy Toronto with my bike. True cyclist you are.

    3. This is absolutely crazy!! But in a good way 😊 thanks for taking us on this journey! I can’t even imagine it.
Very interesting to learn some of the history as well 🤙🏽

    4. Whilst all agree Ireland I beautiful country I was lucky enough to travel around by car in the 70's,cycling into driving rain for hours not my idea of fun 😊

    5. as i may often say to sum folks; 'better you than me.' or things i wish had done when younger and thought all so to tour the world. i got too late a start to finish, butt may do another leg or sore…

    6. Awesome, maybe the Netherlands could do a deal with Iceland for some of that Magma when it dries to build reinforcements against the North Sea. I also hear there are plans to add more trees and forestry to Iceland. I think in driving rain once you're wet you're going to stay wet despite waterproofs, that's been my experience anyway. Take care you too.

    7. Most seaweeds you can eat as long as the water they are growing in isn't polluted. They don't all taste great but you can eat them! haha. Thanks for sharing another great adventure with us!

    8. Ciao ho visto tutti i video dell islana BELLISSIMI ho una domanda c'è la possibilità di trasportare la bici dall aeroporto fino all inizio dei westfjords ? Mi sembra inutile arrivarci in bici .
      Thanks a lot

    9. I love watching your videos. Please could you do a video about your bicycles. Manufacturers, size of wheel and tyre sizes. What do you like about your bicycles, are they ideal or are there things you would change.

    10. (…psstt! – we kind of are!) But take any contemporary nomadic peoples living simply and fully explain what it's like to live in societies modern cities and I'm sure many would still prefer their own ways. Appreciating and viewing nature's vistas compared to existing in valleys of concrete and steel.

    11. All that breathtaking beauty would make weather somewhat easier to ignore. You are just troopers, with staying power for sure. You both have what it takes to conquer obstacles. Me, tipping my hat.

    12. I'm actually off to collect seaweed this morning. It is the safest thing in the world to collect, just be aware of pollution levels if possible. The footage of the seaweed was beautiful. 70% of the oxygen we breathe is made by seaweed. That blows my mind. I hope to get to Iceland one day. Thanks for taking us with you.
