Skiing and sledding down a mountain? Amateur hour. Try rolling through on a wooden bike. Say hello to the Velogemel, a snow bike local to the Swiss town of Grindelwald. Named for the Swiss words for bike (“velo”) and sled (“gemel”), the mighty Velogemel allows you to ride down a slope while sitting upright, as if you were cycling. The wooden vehicle has been crafted exclusively in the small town for over 100 years. And despite the introduction of modern machinery, the simple and unique production principles still remain the same.

Look at that Swiss bike and I’m over here with a cardboard box
It's would be way cheaper if you just made one
Someone please tell me you could drift down the mountain.
Im at Grindelwald on a holiday. What are the odds.
i caemm here just to listen to his unique accent
where the brake?
I'm curious to know, what are the physics of the velogemel remaining upright? Especially since it doesn't have bike wheels
I've seen this in IKEA
but why does he speak dutch
Wo sind d Schwiizer?
I don't understand why this costs 590 CHF its really typical for swiss people to expect too high prices. No wonder lots of people here buy most stuff in Germany.
Haha I have never seen them there though, Grindelwald is really mainly for skiing
How do people manage to understand him if he doesn’t speak standard German?
What language is he speaking?
I don’t understand what’s so special. I’ve seen snow bikes for years
He sounds like gru
amazinf
HRE
What language are they speaking
"Velogemel and Grindelwald is one unit…" And here I was thinking Dumbledore and Grindelwald was one unit…
with a production cost of maximum 50$, here we have another great big story about a "great invention" with at least 10x profit. Now i understand why you can sell a rock in box and other wonderful inventions on ebay. :))
he said he makes 30-50 even on the high end that is like 30k a year – cost of material, that seems like a pretty bad business.
not anymore I'm going to make my own version and start selling it in my shop this is a good idea we get a lot of snow in Indiana lately this would be a blast
Looks like a good device but sitting on a thin slab of wood would cut your arse in half. A better seat wouldn't hurt in fact it would stop it from hurting. I would install a simple bicycle seat and save my arse.
What language is he speaking?
TAKE MY MONEY
Can it really be called a "bike" (i.e bicycle) if there's no cycling involved..?
I love this
also swiss german is incomprehensible lmao help
I want it….
It looks so cool
Even as a Swiss I didnt knew that this thing is called velogemel
$592 FOR 11 pieces of wood is out of this world. How hard is it to cut and shape wood? Im gonna go build me one out of the scraps i got in my junk shed.
how and where I can play the velogemel sport
Tried the Velogemel for the first time last month in Grindelwald. Best slide downhill on snow by a mile! Love from Switzerland ❤
