    1. I think there's a crossover between people that like the idea of road but don't like the elite road idea and training on roads. Whereas gravel is out on the country and not so elite group so therefore people can set up their tent or camper with their friends and enjoying country atmosphere.

    2. I love cycling, I’ve been riding for as long as I can remember. I’ve been “elite” at other sports but always kept riding. I raced mtn and road, I have a garage full of bikes including more road bikes than could ever make sense. Gravel gives me another way to enjoy my sport and I’m consuming all kinds of media sorting out groupsets, wheels, handlebars. I don’t really care about Jonas’s bike. I’ve had so many great bikes I find the changes almost meaningless. But I can’t get enough of 650b versus 700 wheels for different gravel rides. Oh…. And I’m pretty sure this will all mean growth again for mtn bikes when people get tired of “hard tail” gravel bikes

    3. I think a lot of the gravel scene has grown because of the wild traffic we have in the US. Our road scene has died over the years, a kid can get into gravel pretty quickly now without spending a bunch of money on a road bike.

    4. Brendan Johnston, Adam Blazevic, Ella Bloor. All make good content and would be interesting interviews when it comes to crossing over to gravel from road or MTB.

    5. Perhaps road cycling has more non-cyclist viewers than we know. For example, here in the US, millions of people spend their Sundays watching American football and most of them do not play ever and would therefore not be interest in new gear.

It is interesting thou, I cycle every day and I’m much quicker to watch a Chris Miller/ Francis Cade/Durianrider podcast or YouTube click. World tour content is mostly a corporate marketing scheme which turns me off much like how I’ve turned off the CNNs and Fox’s of the world.

There is an appeal to something that is less mainstream, it comes across as more genuine.

    6. Chris’ facial expression is priceless after Jesse says, ‘Am I going to have to start racing gravel? Are you going to have to start racing gravel…?’ So funny.

    7. I think as much as the TDF bike is pretty, it's not that interesting, if you're in any other cycling discipline 1x is not a new thing and all the other little thing that might make that bike better don't apply to the normal rider. Whereas the things in the gravel bike videos tend to be more applicable to the everyday rider, if it's adding a suspension fork or a dropper post to a gravel bike that is something that will make a difference to the average rider. I think you are also missing the fact that gravel is pulling from more than on discipline, it's not just roadies but also mountain bikers that will be interested in gravel.

    8. I feel like you should what you want to do. If that's only road racing, do that! If you wanne do only gravel racing, do that! Surely don't do something only because it's popular. For me, I'm a normal guy, who always wanted to use a race bike on off-road tracks. My local bike shops all told me, I can't do that, it doesn't exist, but only recently, I discovered the gravel bike which fits perfectly for this. So yes, I seek information, like Johnsons videos, is a mountainbike with a roadbike cockpit, and other crazy stuff. It's interesting, I'm open for discussion, and no I don't know every thing. I'm slowly learning and becoming better

    9. Gravel is bigger than you think because in the US, road cycling is doing such a horrible job except in some areas out west. As an endurance athlete that lives in Ohio, the only races that suit my skill set are gravel races. If USA cycling worked on competitive tours or actually 100k or 100 mile road races, gravel will only get bigger for the endurance cyclist.

    10. Another great show guys! Gravel is the future in most areas of the world nowadays. I love road cycling but let's be honest the entry point for gravel is just more accessible to the average adult with a mortgage wife and kids than these world tour winning bikes. Not that we have to get the top of the line machines to enjoy cycling but It's what happens nowadays you end up reaching for the bike that we know is outperforming our abilities. Gravel is way easier on the wallet and on the ability so its more accessible to the average person. You and Jesse should def make a trip to the US together and enter one of these gravel races I guarantee you that you both will have a blast.

    11. This podcast is infuriating! Jesse seems indifferent to gravel but is forced to pretend otherwise for the audience. So, it's not about genuine interest but merely catering to the audience. Is it all just about maintaining appearances?

    12. Nero Show goes Gravel ftw 🎉

      Here's what I could see:
      – recurring gravel segment
      – dedicated gravel show every other week

And you could cover all the angles
      – gravel racing – incl. UCI not getting it etc.
      – gravel tech
      – gravel marketing

    13. As I no longer 'race, my new bike is an aero gravel bike but with two wheelsets; one for gravel and one for road. I would not show up at a 'road race on it but could do gravel events and road club rides and fondos. Sort of a utiliity knife, I'd say

    14. Asking why all people who watch the Tour de France aren’t watching videos about the winners bike is like asking why all F1 fans aren’t watching videos about the cars and drivers.

Some people watch sport because they enjoy watching sport, they probably don’t want to consume YouTube content on top of watching the main event.

    15. I’m still not convinced gravel is going to stand the test of time in the way that road and MTB have, the bikes are already morphing towards MTBs if you ask me!

Also, as a viewer of Dylan’s channel I would watch what he has to say about gravel even if I have little interest in riding the bikes myself, he’s producing content people want to watch.

    16. You’re making a lot of arguments to get a garmin watch; already doesn’t double count activities, can do all the ride tracking and health stuff, can transmit heart rate to your head unit.

      Way cheaper, works great.

    17. I don't really give a shit about gravel, but that video grabbed me because I am interested in the idea that having a hundred niche bikes might not be necessary. That and someone going against the trends is more interesting than another ordinary bike build.
