If you’re living in a big city and watching your income fade away into a giant black hole of rent, then this story is for you! This week we meet Lizzie and Patrick, an inspiring young couple who built their very own, incredible tiny house for the equivalent cost of just one years rent in London city!

And the home is beautiful too. Stunningly designed and easily accommodating the couples needs, this home has provided both Lizzie and Patrick with a lot more than just a secure roof over their heads. It’s also given them the ability to save money and focus on the things that are truly important to them in life.

We hope you enjoy the full tour of this couple’s amazing DIY tiny house!

    1. With the cost of living in the UK (and around the globe) at astounding highs, I'm sure there are many people out there who love the idea of giving up a years worth of city rent in exchange for building their own dream tiny house! Lizzie and Patrick are an inspiring young couple who have built a truly impressive home for a remarkable budget and we hope you enjoy visiting their home as much as we did!

This episode kicks off the start of a series of videos we've filmed in the UK. The tiny house movement has significantly grown since we were last here and it's so exciting to share our new discoveries with you. There are some real treasures in this series!

      With Love,

      Bryce & Rasa

    2. Not just the house but their compatibility ,togetherness is wonderful. They have not only built a lovely home but an enduring life too.The house , magically, appeared spacious and as for the decor, I just loved it.❤

    3. 9:35 am not seeing your fridge – is your mini fridge under the counter – wondered with the ventilation holes you’ve drilled into cabinet – really love what you’ve done by building this yourselves – guessing “the folks in the big house” give you access to laundry facilities 😉 thnx for sharing – much success for you both 🇨🇦🙏

    4. It’s incredible the use of space you have designed so well. I love that it’s high in the general living space, it feels so open and the colours also make it seem bigger. Well done. And your setting is so nice. Well done ❤🎉😅

    5. Free Land ie. Parents Garden, free connection to the Parent's electricity surely is the elephant in the room. Plus it is still only possible because of the Ginormous studio she works in too. Don't get me wrong it is a nice little home, quite clever in places. But it would not be possible with the Free elements that anyone else would have to pay for. I would like to see more of these hidden costs or discounts included and discussed. For example what would they do if the parents moved or were no longer in the picture? There was nothing about parking and transport mentioned either. It all just seemed to be at the bottom of the garden. ie. is WiFi from the main house? Just curious not trying to put a downer on it at all.

    6. This house is lovely and they did a fantastic job…but to be honest I am getting a bit tired of people claiming that they were able to do this at a fraction of the cost of a normal house…yes they did do that but that's because mum and dad allowed them to put this home on their land, so effectivley they are living rent free in a beautiful setting and because its on wheels I assume there will be no council tax to pay. All the facilities, like water, electricity, sewage, gas etc are already there (at the main house and can be channelled to this tiny home.) it all just smacks of bank of mum and dad. There is nothing wrong with that- I just wish they would be a bit more acknowleding about how much help they are really getting.

    7. I mean, really, the daft rates UK rents are, this is a way to go! I don’t get why people need massive houses anyway, with acres of empty floor space that echoes like the Grand Canyon! You see these twits on Grand Designs (many just couples with no kids even!) bankrupting themselves to make a branch of B&Q Warehouse🙄

I’ve been fortunate enough to make enough money to buy a small cottage in the country, but I think this is increasingly becoming beyond young people’s reach to purchase ANYTHING, even if they’re on quite good money.

Only drawback is, you do need to be very handy in the DIY department. I suppose you could commission someone to build it entirely for you, wonder what that’d cost you..? 🤔Then there’s the issue of renting a plot to “live” on…
