In this BTS video I talk about how this project happened, how we filmed it, the gear we used and I’m also going to discuss the post production phase as well as the challenges we encountered during production.
This is the first of 2 videos and this one will focus on the behind the scenes and the second one will be a cinematography breakdown of the main scenes.
Hopefully you found this video interesting.
And by the way thank you so much for the positive feedback on the documentary it really means a lot!
Let me know if you have any more questions and stay tuned for the cinematography breakdown.
Cheers,
Flo

This is the Behind the Scenes of the my latest documentary : The 90 Year Old Cyclist.
Cinematography breakdown coming soon!
Cheers,
Flo
I loved watching these behind the scenes! Bloopers are the best 😂
I got to bike in the southern Cevennes region in Le Gard(Le Vigan) a few years ago… mostly in the mountains. It was so beautiful! I miss it. Your doc reminds me of my cycling in France. Great story and chance to share your grandfather’s story!
Well done. Did you shoot in braw and how did you color grade? Did you use a lut?
great team work; funny at first i had the impression that the project was done entirely by you which is a lot but you do have professional/relax technique of capturing every detail in variety of angels. i do also own Bmpcc4k and sometimes i do deal with reliability issues but i’m glad there are more filmmakers using similar system.
🤌✨
It was a very nice short film. Very impressive.
I would LOVE to see a FilmConvert tutorial, specifically using Braw. I'm never quite satisfied with the results it gives me, as it dramatically changes the color of my footage, typically beyond correcting, or resulting in more work than it's worth. Thanks for everything you do.
Beautiful!
Thank you so much for this. I just finished my first experience as a DP on a short film. I found working with a team challenging at first since I'm use to working alone but we got better as the project progressed. I appreciate your detailed description of each part of the film making process.
So awesome you guys pulled of such a high quality production with a small team. Very good BTS. Can’t wait to see the cinematography breakdown and lighting tips! Love nanlight and the curious how you guys used the Matthew flag!
I could watch even if this was double the duration. Both the doc and the BTS! Thank you, this has been very helpful. Do you edit the scenes in chunks and combine them in the end, or are you working on the final timeline right from the start?
Really spectacular. Thank you for making the BTS videos for this documentary! I’m making a biking film in the next month so this is giving me great inspiration.
Such a great project with you mate, already looking forward to what we create next in 2024!
Why did you not use the Blackmagic 6K Full Frame? THANK YOU
Très intéressant, pertinent et inspirant. Merci
Great behind the scene breakdown! This is really what doc filmmaking should be
Oh man what a pleasure that was to watch and relive such a fun and rewarding shoot. I’m so honored by the way you spoke about me and privileged to have been such a big part of such a great project ❤❤❤ I got a little emotional seeing Benjamin and the family for his birthday – a family I felt like I was a part of for a small week. I can’t wait for the next one, hopefully soon! Thanks again for having me and thanks for being such a big supporter of mine and pushing my work too, you’re so generous ❤
Thank you so much for taking us over all the process of this fantastic project, Flo. It is a beautiful gift to your grandad, indeed. Cheers!
