Hey, there, my name is Jonas and I cycle for change from Tallinn to Frankfurt with my double bass. I’m recording an album on the way and take you with me on my creative journey to encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and trust in your ideas to make a change. One step is donating for pencils of promise, an organization, that is building schools to give children access to quality education and clean water supply:

I met Triinu on the dance floor of my first Tallinn Swing Dance Society event during my exchange study year in Estonia. She’s a charming soul very straightforward and super passionate about many things. Especially the fact, that she was riding a bike also during winter impressed me a lot. Her work as a lawyer has little in common with my future work as a primary school teacher, but we share a love for dancing and cycling!

I experienced Tallinn as a city whose policymakers recently discovered the importance of bike infrastructure. But the people’s attitude toward cycling is very different depending on whom you are talking to. In general, cycling is rather seen as a recreational activity. Our Dance society for example has an event called Swing&ride where they cycle to different places to do a picnic and dance. That’s why there are awesome cycling roads around Tallinn to connect places for recreational activities like disc golf with the city centre. But typical bike lanes for commuting to connect the outer districts with the centre have only been built recently.

Her recipe for a good day is enjoying the fresh air, the freedom of riding and physical activity. She shares other recipes for necessary decisions for better bike policies and her thoughts on the role of the bike for our societies.
