In Lofoten the sun never sets between the 27th of May and the 17th of July. One of the goals of my trip was to experience the midnight sun, and since the weather forecast promised clear skies for the next 24 hours I knew this was my window of opportunity. So I set out onto the roads with one clear mission in mind, to find the midnight sun at the end of the day.

Your videos make my Sunday mike, what an amazing place
Nice!..
Nice one Mike. The Lofotens are indeed very beautiful. But my lasting memory is of Svolvær youth hostel and waking up in the night with a serious cramp in my left calf.
Interesting that you said Norway is reasonably priced if you cook for yourself. I thought that might be the case. I need to come over sometime, especially mid year
can you do a gear update?
Magical, well done mate. I so enjoyed your trip through Tuscany I didn’t think anything could top that series. I guess I was wrong. Thanks for all the effort planning and hard work putting it all together. 👍👍
The videos are so good,it feels like i am there watching them.
He's back! Cool. Good stuff. I'm going to be coming up your way in a few months. Cycle touring and wildcamping if I can on sites if I can't.
When did you do the trip, or what time would you recommend?
You've really stepped up your editing and cinematography skills this trip
Beautiful!!! I'm glad you're able to capture just how stunning this trip was.
More spectacular scenery, it just gets better and better. I imagine having used lots of energy cycling being able to sleep with the sun out isn't a problem.
Thanks for sharing, I look forward to the next episode.
Wow amazing! No reason to go to church on Sunday mornings when you can see God's "magic" in your videos. Mike Hope you got a chance to kick around ⚽️on that extraordinary Pitch … looking forward to next 🎥👏 👏
In Sweden, Cemeteries are my go-to places for fresh water. Are the cemeteries in Lofoten too few, or do they not have water?
More, please! You're the best….
❤❤👍👍👌👌
Wow. Stunning scenery.
Another fine film Michael.
what stunning scenery, I will definitively go there, it is so beautiful, that nature, the sea, the mountains I love it, thanks for sharing these videos. And yes water is often a problem when cycling, and if you take a lot it is heavy so saving and fill up as soon as it's possible is the thing to do.
Wow such beautiful scenery. Cycling paradise.
Such a shame the secret cabin for cyclists has been over run by RVs. I think they arrive there instead of the camping site at Andenes where they are supposed to go as there are facilities for them. The authority on Lofoten needs to ban them from the cycling cabin and surrounding area. I know you said a British guy in an RV gave you water, but without them there it would have been so much more special. A lot of areas of southern Portugal are banning RVs from parking up where they want as there are now so many of them. Not all of the people are responsible towards the local environment either leaving waste and rubbish. Morons.
You seem to be continually looking for water during your cycling day. How many litres do you typically carry?
Is it typical in Norge to not have a shoulder on the road to ride on? Does it make it harder or less safe to ride on such roads?
Spectacular views.
Thanks for a super video! I've been there by car a couple of years ago and wondered that Lofoten would make a great bikepacking destination. This video gave me a confirmation on that. Trip would require a bit of planning since I should travel there from Southern Finland, but seems quite manageable!
Many thanks again Mike. In your response to me in the comments on your last video you mentioned that you have found a nice for at to work with – you are certainly right. The mix of great scenery, shown by great photography and videography, and your comments that include interesting information, works very well. Regards. Phill 😅
Hi Mike, thanks for another fantastic video of a once-in-a-lifetime tour. It would be great if you can make a video about your bar-end gear shifting system and its benefits for a touring setup. Thanks!
Thanks for this addition in the series, may there be many to come😊 btw funny to hear you're using quite a few familiar tunes that I used in my trip as well. And on a side note, perfectly edited in the video 👍
Hi Mike, I see you've gone back to 4 panniers. Is there any reason you're not using the 2 X pro plus panniers?Asking as I'm about to buy panniers and would love your thoughts. Cheers
Åh…blir riktigt inspirerad till att göra den resan själv någon gång! 🙂 Tränar du på något särskilt sätt inför såna långturer? Det är väl rätt kämpigt på slutet…😉
Hi mike how you doing my friend?
#liked 👍😀🏞🏕🚵♂
Amazing, thanks for sharing. When I'm.back in Europe, will do this ride. Thank you for the inspiration!
PS do you have a gpx file or RWGPS/other profile I can copy it from?
Thankyou mike your videos are truely "magical "
Cudos for making some of the coolest bike touring videos out there. Essential info and nicely filmed and edited. Great stuff.
Wonderful video. I felt as though I was there. Such stunning landscape. Truly magical!!
Amazing and inspiring. Bravo, Mike!
Exceptional photo- and cinematography ❣
The Midnightsun was at the lowest over the municipality where I was born and grew up, Bø i Vesterålen.
The Fairytale Municipality. A hidden GEM, and extremely calm compared to buzy Lofoten. We in the Vesterålen Islands, rarely venture to Lofoten during summer tourist season 😉
Great that youi enjoyed our little paradise; The Arctic LoVe Islands 🥰🥰
OMG Gorgeous scenery! My sister and I were planning a arctic coast of Norway trip the year the Ukraine war started, so we put our trip on hold. But I really need to do it, so beautiful…thanks for sharing your amazing videos
Thank you, interesting
Mike your photography skills are excellent and so are your voice overs. This part of the world is heaven on earth, you are fortunate to be able to bike through such a place.
