The bike maker, Surly, has a really good touring bike for only $1,100.00 called the "BridgeClub"; check it out. It has all the necessary mounts as well as extras and sway handlebars and it is 4130 Chromoly steel which can handle more carrying weight if need be. If I was in better circumstances I would get one.
Great video! Codey, when you were touring in Australia you would often put the camera down but only record your conversations with the locals. Can you do that some more? I would like to hear the conversation rather than have you tell us what was said. Thanks!

Trying to show what you do on a daily basis is difficult, isn't it? Intruding. Riding up to something and realizing it would make a good video clip so you stop, set the camera, ride away, ride back up like it's something new, play for the camera or not, park the bike, retrieve the camera, and then get back on with living. You have some beautiful and interesting country to cover there, don't be in a hurry.
