The world’s largest sporting retailer, Decathlon, is back as the co-sponsor of a WorldTour cycling team for the first time since 2006.
Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale has new bikes in the form of Van Rysel’s RCR Pro. The Dura-Ace Di2 build, with Swiss Side wheels, is set to cost £8,500, placing it at the more affordable end of the WorldTour race bike spectrum.
In this video, we take a look at the team’s 2024 build in a very cold car park in Lille.

What do you think? Will you be shelling out for a Tour de France level bike? Let us know in the comments! 👇
£8500 is not affordable🤣, please don't do that to us.
You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.
Range-topping bike prices are insane.
I love Decathlon's entry level offerings but this ain't it hahah.
Love that Twingo in the background. Great addition to the composition of the shot.
More affordable bikes the better for everyday riders but still too expensive.
You've lost your mind if you call that affordable…
Affordable??? 😂 Its a beauty no doubt but I say any bike over $2000 is not affordable for most people.
Affordable will be 30% off most bigger brands.
Look ready to win stages.
still way to much
Many people complaining about the affordability. Affordable is relative, for anyone who needs a superbike, but doesn't want to break the bank, this is the affordable option compared to the competition out there. Just like an 'affordable' supercar is quite a paradox, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. You have to compare it within in it's own category…
This doesn't look at all like a SL7. It looks generic just like most modern bikes…
i may be mistaken but i think teams in the past have been sponsored by shimano only for drivetrains but not pedals. it is not an indicator that they are sponsored
price on TT frame when you get it plz!
To me this bike is like Toyota. It can check all the boxes but I don't want it. + it's not even cheap.
I love it, can't wait to see it in my local decathlon
What happened to the initial bike they teased, matte Black, kitted in Force AXS, tan walls & a rumoured £4.5k price tag?! That showed promise of Affordable super bike!
nice bike
For the same price you can now get a sworks tarmac sl7…I know which I’d rather
Looks very cool. I'd choose it over a Merida.
Imagine buying the Shimano Powermeter xD
It looks great…we will how fast it is…
Cool bike, but what about that OG Renault Twingo…délicieux!
Affordable is around 1.000-2.000k. Anything above 5k is a joke. Expensive more than a car?!? Cmon bike companys.
As someone who works at an specialized, cannondale and bianchi dealer. It's absolutely insane to have that low of a weight with that much surface area of carbon. I'm also assuming they're not using the best grades of carbon in the world. Makes me wonder how they're able to pull it off. I do love what Decathlon does here though! It looks like a 10k+ bike
Looks like the SL8? Looks like the Cannondale, BMC, Canyon…ALL of them. 1000 series carbon…with a different paint job and a lower margin.
I could never ride a bike that says Van Rysel on it..
Affordable but undesirable
Two points to be made;
Anyone who thinks $8500 for a bicycle is "budget" is not paying for their bike
Why on earth would they use a Shimano power meter?? They are very well known for being inaccurate.
There are 2 sizes for Dura Ace 12 speed cassettes and 11-32 isn’t one of them! The BB on this frame looks nothing like my SL7, thank heavens!! Colour combo looks nice thou, so that’s something.
I feel sorry for Ag2r riders who need to ride it instead of the BMC bikes…
It is more aero than tarmac sl8 with 207 watt in Tour Magazine
Chunky!
I have the EDR CF 105, for 2 grand, it's a decent bike. The frame is quite lightweight (around 900g I think)
Too bad these bikes look atrocious
I'm just happy they're done with the brown shorts…yikes…
Don't care if they look like Sky….
shimano power meters are wrong 😊
Amazing and 1 more reason to see the tour!
french quality 🟦⬜🟥
Cool look! I’d say it would be really cool to see this in comparison to what it looks like in the middle of the year like say the TDF bike.
I’ll take 2 please 😂😂😂
