    1. I got Some useless information to share about about my 2019 TREK THATS DONE OVER 16,000K's and my next upgrade model . Im not getting one. I been advised by my bike tech guy to side step the rising price market and purchase a new replacement motor instead ( $ 1,500 NZ) and this is a simple fit & installment my tech guy will do for under $200. No "best & latest" for me so…. will this result in a less happy rider ? … i don't think so.

    2. That Honda E Bike Brings Nothing to the Table in the E MTB World,It Looks Like a Bike From 20 Years Ago,An Orange E MTB Looks Better and is Same Sort of Rear End.
I Would of Thought Honda Would of Made a Combined Motor Gearbox,That Thing was a Wast of There Time Bothering.
Look at Nicolai Bikes ,There New E MTB Saturn Swift is a Lightweight Powerfull E Bike ,Not an E MTB Bike Like a Heavy Motorbike Type of Thing, E Bikes/Cycles Should Be as Near To an Ordinary Bike With the Lightest Power Added To MAke Riding More Fun Not Heavy With Lots of Drag!!!!

    3. What I think is interesting is the use of single pivot, with no additional links. Many designs over the years have been similar/identical to moto x bikes and this is a modern example. It looks very similar to a mountain cycles shockwave mk1. Large swing arm and a massive monocoque "looking "bubble".

    4. Loads of motorcycle companies make EMTB’s, 99% of which actually look amazing and perform really well. Main difference is, the Honda is down right fckn ugly! 😳🤮🤮🤮

    5. I'm amazed you guys are amazed and excited for geofencing that let you ride the ebike at 65kmh.

Those of us who build high quality coverted bikes already ride at 65km. My 52v 1800w bike, a 2009 Giant Trance X0 can max out at 85km… when I can pedal over 130rpm with my 58×11 gearing.

Why do ebikes need to be restricted and geofenced? Every car and motorcycle on the road can exceed 100kmh any where yoy want.

Do Lamborgini drivers and Ducati riders go 200km down main st. On their daily commute just because they could? No.

Why cant ebikes, scooters, eucs abd one wheels be registeted, insured and riders licenced in th low speed or even regular speed motorcycle categories.

Expert cyclists who easily exceed 50kmh every time they get on their bicycles on or offroad need to stop their hands about derestricting ebikes.

Stop pan handling to the ignorance of law makeres and trasportation authorities who dont ride bikes and dont know how often regular commuter can reach and exceed 50kmh riding down the modest hills of their daily commute…

Halo, I do that on my 1970 5spd Raleigh city bike with rusty steel chrome rims and cheap rusty caliper brakes.

People get killed and disabled on regular pedal bikes every day. Its not the motor that makes any bike a murderous killing machine its the nature of bikes and why we love them.

There is no reason not to require people to register, insure and get a licensce to operate any bicycle or vehicle on public bike lanes and roads.

A lot of places used to do it because it actually does take more knowledge, skill and experience to ride safely on public property than just being able to balance a bike and pedal it.

    6. Well, let's face it. WITHOUT moto, mtb would still be in dark ages of bicycle design and innovation. Moto & auto engineers are FAR ahead of bicycle engineers. Partly because the bicycle industry doesn't pay anything…bicycles are like the red-headed step child of moto design.

    7. Thoughts on getting back into riding after illness? I have an eMTB (Turbo Levo) but with long covid am not able to ride trails or off road. I'm looking at an Orbea Gain (gravel version) to give me e-assistance on the local lanes and roads as they are immediately accessible and I can use local towpaths as well as the roads, if I can get my distance up). Currently can manage about 4 miles on the Levo in full assist mode, and about 3 minutes on an analogue bike. Have put more road-oriented tyres on the Levo but it's quite big and heavy compared to the Gain – any ideas if the e-road bike as a way to get back into riding after illness is worthwhile as I'll not be able to get off-road in the near future – or is it just a case of n+1 fever?

    8. Looks like form over function, not form follows function. Reminds me of those Y-Frame Treks from the 1980s (I was there!). The only useful innovation is a nice handle to help you pick up your ebike. Also, where do I put my water bottle? Bah humbug

    9. IMO that Honda is ugly, and more akin to a motorbike than a bike – it's taking the EMTB market in totally the wrong direction. Big, ugly ….!

    10. I think the Honda bike looks like a bike from the 90s. That frame is so bulky, it's just not astheticly pleasing.
+ that rear mud guard will make sure that suspension gets a nice mud bath.

    11. Honda in order to make it big, needs to ask riders what they are looking for in a bike. Bike is to heavy and bulky. The less stuff on it and lighter the better , strong engine and lasting.

    12. When e-bikes lose the the traditional bicycle look and look like motorcycles it’s a guaranteed move backwards for trail usage. It might not be any different than from other e-bikes but if it looks like a motorcycle it will bring trouble. Out of sight, out of mind is always better. I have been ebiking my local trails for years and no issues. If I road this Honda I could guarantee I would be noticed and it would start the conversation about e-bikes on the preconceptions of what motorcycles do to the trails. I ride right past state workers and game officials and they don’t even notice. Why would I want them to come and give me a hard time because they think I’m on a motorcycle at first glance. motorcycles are already banned on the trails I ride. A truly bad look for e-bikes.

    13. Steve, a tech question which may have been addressed. I suffer pretty bad with wrist pain after rides. To combat/ease this I thought that maybe increase my lyrik ultimate from 160mm to 180mm and reduce the spring pressure from my current 115 psi (Rider and pack weight approx 235lbs) in order to maintain the bikes geometry whilst reducing impact on my wrists. Could you tell me what might be detrimental to my bikes performance if I carry out this mod?

    14. One thing nobody wants is Lithium Ion batteries that catch fire or explode . So far government regulations have not kept up with the many different ways a bike can be powered .

    15. Let's see. $15K E-bike. $12K 750cc motorcycle. Or, ride my 10K mile $3000 1000W Ebike another 25K miles. The hosts ride in France and England. Countries with 1000 years worth of laws. I ride in Florida. Half the cops in my area recognize me. Riding on the sidewalks, riding against traffic. Sometimes going 35 MPH. Bright yellow frame. For visibility.

    16. Nobody needs power steering on their mtb whether it's straight pedal power / pedal assist or full blown EV powered…. Come on man. Bicycles are already ridiculous enough now between their outrageous prices and the ridiculous things like Bluetooth wireless shifting. The direction we're heading…… Someday the rider will sit in the pits remotely controlling his bicycle on the track. How neat O
