  1. The captain controlling everything is the way to go. I would go with Di2 without cable controls and hydraulic brakes with biggest rotors, 48 spoke wheels with ratchet engagement 18T

  2. The YouTube channel Kara and Nate just finished a cross country ride on a trandem bike. 8 people taking turns riding. The lead on the bike controlled everything.

  3. I had never known this was a thing till I saw your intro, and I also am fascinated by the roles and the different mechanics required to make these bikes work! This is fantastic! And nice wheels (motorized and manual!)

  4. I didn't think I was going to like this video. I'm not much for bike races. But Mike surprised me. As he does so seamlessly, his videos are about people and connections. I should have known, though. I don't like car racing either and yet enjoyed those videos too.

  5. So i watched Kara and Nates video of crossing the US in a tri tandem. And boy they kept getting flats and chain issues, and the rear freewheel also broke on their tandem. Are these just normal bikes extended no extra work done? Seems a bit silly to not upgrade the rear hub and add chain tensioners where needed.

  6. I'm trying to convince my husband to create a cayman islands team. Note neither of us own a bike or even ride occasionally 😂. I hope Team New Zealand is doing ok!

  7. I thought the video should have been longer, maybe 30 min for something like this or even an hour, because I was losing the story some when you jumped around to the different teams and the segments were so short.

  8. Great new series!
Looks like they really need to improve on the bike's reliability for the race to be more viable. It's more of a mechanic's race at this point.

  9. Interesting 👍 shame they cant make the bikes longer so the riders are alternating their pedal strokes. That would avoid the bike frame bouncing and putting immense pressure on the forms and wheels. So 1,2,3,4 instead of all on 1.
Shame the route they're on is gravel 😬 can tell they were sooo glad with a main road surface.

  10. Anyone else wondering how multi person bikes have become the next big YouTube thing 🤣 between kara & nate and now Michael!

  11. It would be cool to partner with a big bike brand who can build you guys a bike that can stand up to the load. Also I think the sport would benefit more from a total time win rather than a position based one due to the staggered starts. Time starts when you set off, stops when you either hit the end of a checkpoint/end of the race to determine how fast they went through. Maybe a bit more regulations in terms of spare parts, a team mechanic, and each team having their own support vehicle. Also a certified medic(s) for the race lol, one for either every team or one that stays in the middle of the pack that can get to any team pretty quickly. I think this could have some great potential for a big sport. Biking is already incredibly world wide. Would be cool to see this grow.
