In Part 3 we first begin the long journey home with a boat voyage and plane transfer back to Trondheim. Resembling the bike at Trondheim airport, the magical highlands of central Norway await! However, the journey home is easier said than done. Like a silent assassin the E6, Norway’s busiest road stalks you all the way back. A long detour and a ‘silly o’clock’ ride are required to reach home in one piece.

I plan doing a bikepacking trip with my gravelbike next year in norway. Thanks for putting in the Road Numbers. I will now definitely try to avoid the big roads (ex. E6,E7). Didn't knew that there is so much traffic there. Big thanks!

Hi, what an inspirational trip! I also live in also and am a Brit too. Looking for a short 3 day trip leaving from Oslo in the next week or so. Any suggestions for a round trip? I personaly planned to go bikepacking from Tromsø to Frankfurt myself this year, but wasnt able, due to Covid.

As a fellow Grail owner and so-to-be bike packer, loving your videos! It's great to see how you've used the Grail on multi-day rides. And your attitude on the bike, even with those crazy tunnels, is inspiring. Have you noticed a difference in driver behavior in the tunnels that have the button you push to alert that a biker is coming through? That seems like a very simple "solution" to riding a bike through a tunnel – why wouldn't all the tunnels have that? Thanks so much for all the content!

Dont understand why anyone want all the suffering… my cycle has an engine…1100cc….I can do that trip in a fraction of that time. Not be afraid of tunnels, smell the same air, see the same view but not in slow motion.

Could I ask, what happens if some kind of severe malfunction was to happen to your bike? Suppose the chain broke or there was critical damage to the tyres etc… did you have some form of contingency?

Ever since I saw the video from øvre Årdal and took “your trip” I’ve been mesmerized with your blogs. Have sent links to my brother in the US. Just finished seeing the Nordkapp episode today. Can’t wait until summer when we will take the e-bike route down (and up—or up and down) Måbødalen. Senja is another bucket list ride. You’ve given us some great tips!
I'm impressed. What motivates you to cycle in such wet and windy environment? I agree Norway is a stunningly beautiful country to cycle in but considering risks vs reward I would probably head to Austria or Switzerland.
