    1. When in Ohrid, visit 'Sveti Naum' (Saint Naum) Monastery. You can go by boat which, a few years ago, cost me 600 denars, approx. 16 AUD. This is includes an hour's ride to the Monastery in the morning and the ride back in the afternoon. At the Monastery's (entry fee a couple of $) you'll see the colourful and albino peacocks, and breathtaking panoramic views of the lake. For a few $ you can take a boat ride up the river which flows in Lake Ohrid AND you can fill your water bottle because the water is so clean! You can lunch at the beautiful restaurants, visit the row of authentic (mostly) souvenir cottages and go for a swim and laze about on the beautiful lounges. PLEASE remember the boats to the Monastery are large and specifically say they go there. DON'T mistake other boats which only take you around the shoreline for 30-60 min. charge you 600 denars – and you've virtually seen nothing you can see from land.

    2. Definitely more than 2 days in Ohrid if you want to explore the Ohrid Lake coastline. From the city to St Naum, I’d say there’s 25 miles of coast, and there’s so so much to see. The Bay of Bones, several monasteries, churches, some of which can only be accessed by boat..

    3. Hey, you mentioned that a PCR covid test is sufficient at the borders between the Balkans countries. Does it have to be less than 72 hours validity? Thanks

    4. I found this video to be very useful for my upcoming trip.. Thank you for sharing your tips.. The little unknown towns do end up being surprisingly charming don't they? Cheers.
