EPISODE #125
What started out as a wonderful ride takes a very sour turn for the worst. I finally get out to start exploring the beautiful roads of Portugal, and I take in some of the local sights. It was all going great.
But then I get dealt a pretty bad bit of luck to say the least. And on more than one occasion also… the worst of it all, just to finish off a horrendous turn of events, my Trek Emonda frame is now snapped. An absolute kick to the stomach whist I’m already down… but you know what they say, it can only be up from here. Surely.

  1. Hello Thomas, welcome to Portugal, I just found your channel, and you just win another subscriber. We share the same pasion for bycicles and Portugal.
It was painful to see what happened to the bicycle, but we must be grateful that you saw the failure in time, and prevented a possible serious accident.
In the future if you need to repair any carbon parts, there is a store in Alhandra that works with carbon "Gelu carbon creations".
Take care! And again welcome to Portugal

  2. The fact that you're still so positive and looking at the bright side after all these set backs speaks volume about you. Hope you'll turn the corner soon, and I'm looking forward to more Portugal cycling content! Love that country during my short stay there.

  3. Mate I feel for you … watching this episode after reading the title I was just waiting for the news…. chin up bro it will pass and BIg Shout out to Team Cycles what a great outfit…. I defo will be using them going forward… I wish you well – in Special Forces the saying is 'Slow is smooth smooth fast ' you will get there.

  4. Wow your so lucky Thomas that …the frame didn't snap while you were out .

Hope when you move to somewhere better you don't use Algarve removals again, that's shocking

What sort of wattage do you chuck out on zwift ?

  5. Cut your self some slack man, your mrs and dog are the important things can always get another bike. Life is a pile of shit some times it’s just the depth that varies 😅

  6. I cant help wonder if this would happened so readily had it been rim brake .

Frames structure has to be sacrificed to make up for the extra bulk of having car brakes , and stay same weight overall

  7. Cheers from the north of Portugal. If you ever come to Porto, let me know. Me and my family, we will happily enjoy showing you the food and the lovely views. Best of luck… 👍

  8. Please, do us Downhill Mountainbikers one favor, and stay out the mountain rocks and muddy forests, just to be safe, that nothing like dirt could hit your white shoes & those fancy white socks!!!
Imagine, what a shame it would be, you took one of your 200 Daly photos, and there are dirty, white shoes on it????
    Sozial Media Star, over😜😂😂😂😂👍‼️
