First off, very well done on doing a cycle tour outside of the "normal seasons". I live in Iceland and cycling can sometimes be tough here, even during mid summer. But I want to point out that there is no need to cycle on the roads alongside speeding traffic inside Reykjavík. There is a plethora of cycle ways network that can lead you wherever you need to go within the small city and lead you out of it as well.
