In late 1944, the United States Army learned something chilling. At the time, the Americans were fighting the Germans in the Ardennes, a forested region located between Luxembourg and Belgium. The cold and snow were devastating, making the battle experience even more savage. The misery on the scene was made worse by the news that on December 17, 1945, Waffen SS troops had committed carnage. Near the town of Malmedy, there had been a brief battle between the Americans and the Germans, which had resulted in a victory for the latter.

    1. I hate to inform the narrator of this video but on December 17th 1945 the war in Europe had been over for just over seven months. Also, the Americans need to check their double standard because they had already committed a massacre on the island of Sicily in 1943; which was known as the "Biscari Massacre. The American perpetrators of that massacre got a slap on their wrists.

    2. It’s history now and you can’t change history. Eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth. Like the North American Indians, they didn’t scalp until they were scalped. Doesn’t matter that it’s all wrong, it happened. These are things to be remembered so they don’t happen again. Good luck with that.

    3. War is hell. No amount of training can prepare you emotionally for the horrors of combat. Tit for tat is unwritten rule. The notion of "Rules of War" must have been drawn up by wishful thinkers. Someone forgot to educate Hamas, communist forces, and extremeists

    4. The Germans committed many massacres and many other war crimes in the name of racial superiority and hate not PTSD. Many of the atrocities committed by the allies were do to PTSD or anger for the atrocities committed by the Germans. Unless you have been in combat, you will not know why combatants react the way the do. Is a different state of mind. Incomprehensible to many people comenting in this thread. Is hard to deal with it. The combat stress can be displayed in many ways. Not justifiable but uncontrollable at times. Combat is horrendous. It takes a toll in your emotions and feelings. Is a monster living inside of yourself. At times lead to individual suicides.

    5. I know WW2 vets and when they was on the move, hard and fast in Europe, there was no time to stop. Everybody was killed. This something nobody talks about but it’s the truth. You couldn’t let the enemy continue to fight or rejoin a unit, you could not stop to wait for MPs or pull out to hold them. War is hell, everybody dies in war, it’s just a fact that people don’t want to face up to.

    6. Once again some of your facts in this video as in your other videos are incorrect. You state that the Germans capture a total of 84 American prisoners. This is incorrect as the Germans had a total of 127 American prisoners. During the Malmedy massacre, 84 prisoners were kill with another 43 American prisoners ultimately escaping back to American lines. This is how information regarding the massacre was first discovered by the Americans as the survivors started to tell their story on the event. You really need to flush out the truth and get your facts correct as in each video your facts (or should I say non-facts) are rather blatant. It show your lack of effort regarding research and if you are going to do history, you owe it to others that you get it correct and right.
