Narrowboat life is over. This week we appreciate some of the differences between life on a narrowboat and in a house.

For those of you just joining us, welcome! We’re Vic and Jo and we’ve been narrowboating around the UK for the last few years on our 54ft narrowboat Zero. Two years ago we decided to give up our jobs in the city and add another boat to our fleet in hope of turning it into a travelling cafe and becoming full time boating baristas.
Follow us as we learn the ins and outs of business on the water whilst cruising around the UK.

If you’re embarking on a boaty DIY project yourself, this is the book (the bible) that Vic recommends: https://amzn.to/3f2C7nJ

    1. It's very comforting to see you luxuriating in the splendor of space and running water. I wonder if the little lad will have any memories of boat life in a few years. I wonder also if William will remember.

    2. Glad you guys are all well. Must have been a bit unsettling at first, land from water but good to see you have settled in. Love William's giggling.

    3. We have been quite concerned for you. So thankful y'all are OK. Will you still be on Holly in the warm months? We are hoping to visit the UK again. Your Cafe is on our 'must see' list! Did you sell ZERO?????
I'm just thankful that you are all well and healthy! Sending warm hugs from Florida!!!!
P.S. I love my cook book!!!

    4. Horse chestnuts or "Conkers", placed on window sills or apertures will prevent spiders from coming into homes, they cannot stand them for some reason and apparently there s going to be a big invasion of large spiders as winter approaches. Nice to see how William is progressing. Take care Y'all.

    5. Glad you are all well. It's quite a thing to own a house and a narrow boat. I couldn't afford both so had to sell my narrow boat, I really miss the canals and boat life generally. I content myself with just walking the towpaths now. Be happy.

    6. So glad to see you again Enjoy land life. You are a great family. Please keep us all in touch. You are well qualified to make some great informative videos to sell to networks.

    7. Good to see you're still posting 😁👍 I've not been back to our boat since we moved into a house – 2 weeks ago. Thinking I'll be as excited to see her ! What plans for the boats long term? See you next week 👍

    8. We have been living on our narrowboat for just over a year and know that one day we will have to return to living on land. It must be bitter sweet for you as it must be a lot easier but not as sociable. I know that my husband would miss talking to passers by as well as conversing with the ducks and swans each day. We hope that you can continue to post some videos every now and then xxxx

    9. So glad you've all settled into house life but sorry, I'm not watching anymore, I loved it when you were on the water travelling along but now its not the same anymore. Good luck in the future though x

    10. Did you sell Zero?. Yes i owned a house for 38 yrs and use to put those "letter box" papers on the fire. But now they go in the recycling bin 😂😂😂😂😂

    11. "Houses are different to boats?" Are you kidding?
How 'bout : "Houses are not boats."
Sub-literate, primary-school English has never been a treat.
What passes for music is simply trash.

So, one wonders why y'all bothered.

    12. Love the videos…interested to see your adventures on land! What you love, what you miss about boat life and the challenges 🕷️🕷️🕷️Wow William is really growing up!

    13. It seemed like you were experiencing a form of therapy, the kind that is good for the soul as you trundled down the towpath looking for Holly. Glad you all seem happy as you settle into this next stage of your life 🙂

    14. Hi there, I sometimes visit Bollington and I realised that’s where your café is based. Next time I go over, whereabouts are you likely to be? Do you moor in different places?

    15. Hello Vic,we hope you're all well and settling in with William in your new home, we're a bit sad you've come off the boat as we looked forward to your vlogs but fully understand your choice especially with a toddler,we both learned a lot of stuff from you Guys and will be coming on the cut ourselves pretty soon, I wold like to ask a favour from you…. in one of your later vlogs you recommended a NB DIY book ,quite a big volume that covered everything, can you remember the title or reference number or which vlog it was please.Anyways we wish you all the very best for your next chapter in your lives and miss your presence on the vlogs very much, you are our favourites and loved the way your shared so many things about your life style. Take care and very kind regards Gary and Michelle.

    16. It just feels so wrong. The only important thing at the end of the day is that you are well, happy, and surrounded by the people that make life worth living.
