This weekend at Torbay Velo Park round 4 of the British Cyclocross National Trophy I had the incredible opportunity of doing a practice lap with the cyclocross legend that is, Nick Craig!

During this video you will see Nick and I head out for a practice lap, plus I pick his brains on all things Cyclocross, including what he looks for during a practice lap, the most important cx skill and his advice for an up and coming junior who wants to make it as a pro cyclocross racer.

I hope you enjoyed this different style of video and please do Like & Subscribe for more content!

    1. I will never forget 1991 about a third of the way up Ingleboro me and Nick with Ian ferguson closing and Nick thinking I bumped into this guy at chateau deox mtb wc in Switzerland maybe he’s got the legs

    2. Brilliant interview, great questions with an absolute legend and an all round great guy 👌 Possibly would have liked more training tips but he's probably keeping those under his hat! Yes more of these please!

    3. Loved the video. Shame about the people talking over the first minute, or so, of the on track footage. Met, and spoke to him in 2017 , at a track test day in York. Vert easy to talk to and a very humble, but highly talented guy.

    4. Nick and Sarah are such lovely people… Very grounded and I feel so sad for them all to have lost their young son Charlie 😢 during a MTB ride in the Glossop area I met Sarah and the two boys as we were all riding up a steep incline.. after a very brief chat I challenged the boys to race to the top…. Charlie was fast and just beat me… I didn't actually know who they were at that time but I remember saying to my mate that the kid had a future in cycling … He certainly was on his way before his unfortunate and early passing. #Rideforcharlie

    5. Great seeing one of my contemporaries still hammering the younger riders.
There is a big element of wisdom in racing so older riders can still be competitive against the younger ones.
      Train smart, race smart.
Georgio; he'd be competitive against the current best riders no doubt. Bikes are faster but same engines.
Dynamic assessments during races makes a big difference, Nick is one of the pragmatic riders who'll know when to run before being forced to, seconds saved mean bigger prizes 😊 .

    6. Never been so pleased to see anyone in my life as I was to see him lap me at the miserable British champs last year😂 Seems like a really likeable bloke when I’ve seen him interviewed and in real life.
