Lance, JB, George, and Johan dissect the recently unveiled route for the 2024 Tour de France, and break down how the course, which features an opening three stages all spanning over 200 kilometers, and some with a significant amount of climbing in the Italian Apennines, will set an early tone for the competition, and how the ascent of the brutal Col du Galibier on Stage 4 and a significant amount of gravel on Stage 9 will add excitement and complicate things for the contenders. The crew dives into which of the sport’s GC superstars are best suited for this dynamic course, the adverse impact it will have on Mark Cavendish, and how it might affect his lead-in to the Tour. Additionally, they discuss how the mountainous time trial in Nice, instead of the usual procession in Paris, will reshape the race and, much, much more.

    1. Can't agree with Johan about the gravel stage! Yes it is hard and unpredictable but it's amazing for fans and sponsors! I still remember giro 2010 stage on whiteroads that Cadel won or the mini Roubaix stage of the tour that Nibali rode like a savage wearing yellow dropping the rest of the GC guys, I believe more people watched that stage than all the others put together!

    2. I just hope that after the first "hard" stage, the leader doesn't go into defense mode for the entire rest of the race. I do like to see the actual race happen more than once over 3 weeks.

    3. Disagree with the crew, I hope Pog does do Flanders and the other classics. If his only goal was the tour I think he would be leaving a lot on the table.

    4. Flanders isnt a bucket list item for Pogacar. Pog is also focused on piling up monument victories. Hes the only GT rider in the highest level who can. So that was an ignorant comment

    5. I agree with what Lance said about Roglic, he has to just play it cool. Get a high fitness level beforehand, play it cool until that crazy Plateau de Beille stage and the stages after that, and strike there. He's my favorite and I'm cheering for him, but the others I like too and the big battle between the 4 big stars oughta be amazing.

And I also think that it's actually good that the big monument climbs aren't there every year, but every few years or so. Then they're more anticipated. If they were there every year then it could become more normal and less mythical?

    6. Cavendish will win a stage, Remco will crack again long before the race ends (stage 15 perhaps) and Roglic will win after a crazy fun hard battle with Pogacar and Vingegaard where Pogi gets another frustrating 2d place and Vingegaard will crack for the first time on stage 19 where he will be happy to still be on the podium. Roglic wins it in the last stage, a redo of 2020 where he gets his 'revenge' and win his first (and only) Tour. JV and UAE will still be the strongest teams but not by as much as before and the gravel stage will be a 'nothingburger' where the GC men will all finish in the same group. What are your scenario's (and wishfull thinking) for next year's tour?

    7. What about Sepp Kuss? He's not trying for the Giro, which I think he could win. Instead he'll ride in support of Vino in the Tour and then defend at the Vuelta. Just saying, we need an American to win the Giro, and be the first since Andy.

    8. Great video. I really loved it. Curious about something, please. Why can't/don't they have a stage race cycling event at the Olympics? a 3-day, 5-day, 7-day event? It would be pretty great to have something like that.

    9. Oh for God's sake, yall quit yore bitchin and moanin about the gravel. Waaaa waaaa waaaa… yall act like yall don't know the history of the tour at all. You wanna make it interesting, have 10 stages on gravel, 5 flat stages, 2 rolling, and 3 mountain, but for all you pussies….on the mountain stages, the downhills can be on pavement. Lord 🤦‍♂️
