    1. Hi there!
I just heard that you cannot reply to everyone, which i can understand, i mean there's hundreds of comments so it would be a full time job for someone to do that, but you guys DO READ THEM, SO… is there a mail adress i can send my thoughts and ideas? Thank you

    2. There is no point embracing change when the promoters and rights sellers are killing the watching. Mtb and road now both unwatched due to the recent losses

    3. Si and Dan, you've hit it on the nail with many of your comments here. There's more issues involved when changing the cycling calendar, think about the cities, towns or locations that over the years have depended on those race events coming to their areas at those times. Small things like restaurants, cafes and bars that make a good tourist income from those races. I'm been to quite a few races live and I see the wealth there for the businesses. Also people in Europe take their vacations around the races either it be the big 3 races or even the smaller races throughout Europe, they schedule their lives around cycling. Of course the race organisers want to make better profits and better coverage, who wouldn't. My view is that cycling events need a better way of broadcasting all the events and that comment leads to GCN and GCN+ which I feel has been fantastic for cycling awareness, either racing or everyday riding. I like to believe that I was one of the first viewers to GCN many years ago, I truly believe GCN has opened the eyes to so many cyclists and even people that don't ride bikes (I have family and friends that don't ride); they like watching the race events and GCN videos. What I'm getting at is that cycling needs more either TV or Internet broadcasting to show the world this beautiful sport/activity. BUT don't make it a money grab thing as many large corporations do, they'll scare people away. I've seen as I'm sure millions also have that cycling has hugely increased over the last many years, it's not going away! Also before I go, a massively huge thanks to GCN for being, I guess I can say, pioneers in broadcasting cycling to the world, well done! Justridethebike!

    4. Never used it, won't miss it… buuut the content seemed fire and if I woud have had the time, I would have proably subscribed and did some binge watching.

    5. The suggestion (not yours) of the Giro and Vuelta A España being made two weeks sounds like a bit of French arrogance. A Grand Tour is three weeks. All the other two week events were not Grand Tours. This suggestion would devalue Spain and Italy's fantastic events.

    6. I’d like to see bike manufacturers creating near-top bike at Triban price. That’s supposed to be called trickle down tech. No gimmicky over-the-top tech

    7. I'd like big bike-manufacturers take care of the riders at the lower end of the performance-scale: The ones that have to fit their ride-times and the bike-budget within the time- and money-budget of a four-(or-more)-person-family. I ride about 5500 to 6000 km a year at about 28 kph average. Just for the fun of being outside, being a bit sportive and enjoing the experience; no competition, no town-sign-sprints. So i'd like this bike: endurance-geometry, alloy-frame, alloy-wheels, mechanical 2by / 11speed, mechanical disk-brakes for below 1000€. Sure, there is decathlon, but where are the big names? Btw: for the sake of the discussion: 2nd hand shall be no option.
      Cheers!

    8. I would like to see lower priced ,more affordable bikes by brands that are still quality for youngsters to get into road ,gravel and MTB riding in competitions & club riding. It's a VERY expensive sport to get a growing child into . Especially when you prob have to change the bike every year as they get older and taller. Otherwise the way the market is going kids will only be able to get into the sport via mega rich parents or the TINY 2nd hand market via smaller frames that are few and far between.

    9. On one hand it would be nice to have another big highlight in october and the chance of an epic rain edition of Paris-Roubaix would be much higher these days. But you also want to see all the best classics rider at peak form competing there which is much more unlikely so late in the saison. If I were a cobblestone specialist I wouldn't want to wait the whole saison for my main races.

    10. Decent budget bikes are out there. Through the likes of Decathlon. I'd like to see GCN revisit those offerings and review. I think the bang for your buck conclusion would be illuminating.

I was never a GCN+ subscriber. So, personally I've lost nothing. But, it is a great shame that it is now gone for those who wanted it and those, like me, who may have joined in the future.

    11. At nine minutes, Dan Lloyd condones putting the Vuelta and Giro to two weeks. The last interview I saw with Tadej Pogacar saying he'd be in favor of putting the Tour de France to two weeks too!

    12. @12:56 I live in Perth…. it's car mad and crawling along in your car bumper-to-bumper is just another day… uncontrolled urban sprawl has resulted in a metropolitan area (North to South) of about 150km between the northern-most suburb to the southern-most (Perth city is buried somewhere in the middle)…. we have an incomplete metropolitan PSP network (Principal Shared Path) which, to the layman, is a bike path … the PSP is generally quite good (smooth asphalt and usually lit and isolated from major roads) but there are many gaps in the PSP so when it suddenly runs out, you're back on suburban roads and associated hazards… to cap it off, there is a bogan element who loathe bikes on roads and do all they can to scare the bejeesus out of you (despite 'keep your distance' laws) …. Australia (and especially Perth) is not very cycle-friendly and the sprawl and struggling and slow public transport means people automatically grab their keys before choosing other options – even if their trip is a couple of kilometers …. this place sure ain't Belgium, folks!!!

    13. LOL… The MTB is better value really rings a bell for me! Especially the full-suspension ones, basically you get half of a car for what you paid for! The suspensions are the same as cars and motorcycles, the stick-and-pivot system (I don't know the exact term, LOL) need some real engineering and is similar to what you'll find in your cars (one wheel or between wheels). That's real mechanics and really justifies the price. The suspension alone, if you look to the price of car parts, you'll see they are priced similar, because they are more or less the same thing. That's why the entry price of DH bike is so expensive because basically what you need is car technology. However now with plastic "spaceship" road bikes with nearly 0 real technology but "shaping" at current price, the half-of-a-car DH bike don't even look expensive now. If I have to spend let's say 5-10 K for a bike, I'd definitely get a DH bike. Screw the carbon fiber, all I need is some bad-ass suspension and a working rigid metal pivot system. That's something that is not an IQ tax.

    14. I'd like to see GCN do some coverage on places that are punching above their weight in encouraging cycling. Go to Davis, California and take a look around and see how highly you'd rank it against the best places in the Netherlands. Maybe if you finally dip your toes in at RAGBRAI you could take a swing through some of the better spots in the Midwest too (e.g. Madison, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Ames, though you're not going to find anything in the Midwest as good as Davis) and then see if you can figure out what we ought to be doing in Chicago! But I worry it's going to be hard without a subscription-based model; the indie media and even now in an increasing number of cases major media as well that are succeeding are doing so because of subscription based, content led business models.

    15. For GCN, can yall release the documentaries to the YouTube channel after a certain period of time? Maybe like a annual documentary dump at the New Year?

    16. I'd personally like to see more 1 week races vs 3 week races. More scenery, more actual racing vs playing defense the second you have a lead, etc. I'd actually like to see maybe a 10 race cup of sorts, points driven, around the world through the season. Sorta like the FedEx cup for golf.

I'd like to think too, it may curb PED use. 3 weeks is a long time and it may be over the human limit. A week is doable for a pro, and will open up more day to day attacking.

    17. Back during COVID shut-down, GCN presenters put out some great videos, Connors dirt track in his yard, Hanks tall bike, these were very entertaining and a step to the side of the usual stuff ie Riding in the rain, keeping your feet warm, how to pack a seat bag.

    18. What I would like to see in cycling in the upcoming 5 years? Maybe some sort of streaming service with all-cycling content. LIVE racing, full race replays, as well as documentaries. Doesn't that sound awesome!? Maybe it could be called something like "GCN+"! Or is it too good to be true…?

    19. Cycling must be affordable. A runner needs just £500 to have top of the range running shoes, sweatband, shorts, vest and dry merc jacket.

Imagine if running was expensive as cycling do you think Kenyans, Ethopians and Ugandas would be taking 1-10 spots in Races.

They will never be an African team in the TdF peleton when its so expensive to run a cycling club worse off the prizes are terrible.

A marathoner earns $50k after 2hrs 10mins for men but then one who wins a stage gets just £9500 and those stages are like 5hours each.

It doesn't make sense the prize are too low for the pain endured.

    20. i tried the garmin radar mount on saddle bag and it was wobbly and ineffective, meaning it wasn't detecting cars as well. I would rate a bodge unless the person solved that issue.

    21. If there is continued cycling innovation it would be nice to consider if what is in essence a sustainable sport is rendered less sustainable through new innovations. I'm for instance still to be convinced about electronic shifting. What on earth does it add either to our enjoyment of watching top athletes competing or ourselves besting ourselves as amateur athletes? Yet you now have much more complex tech, which is more difficult to repair, requires batteries and electricity. So guided sustainable innovation would be nice.

    22. at the age of 61 with a lot of health issues it has to be more geared up towards electric bikes. Can you imagine what a real life Tron bike would look like. Bring it on!! 😁
