Paul & Anthony living full time on a 60’ electric narrowboat, cruising along the canals and rivers in the UK. We take our Narrowboat along the Staffs & Worcester Canal, through Hyde Lock and moor our biat at the Beeches in the stunning area around Kinver. We explore the beautiful village and the Kinver Edge Cave Houses. We then travel on our electric narrowboat through locks and along the rich sandstone trail that the canal follows and moor at the Round Oak Pub, heading North to the Shropshire Union Canlal.
Paul & Anthony together with Dexter live full time, but manage to work part-time, on a Narrowboat, cruising the UK Canals and finding out what it’s really like to be Living on a boat exploring the Nature and scenery on some of the best canals and rivers in the UK onboard an Oakums Narrowboat called Morning Star. Our brand brand new narrowboat from Oakums Narrowboats is embracing the latest technology including lithium, solar, and electric propulsion, the boat will be coal and gas free. Hi Paul, Anthony and wonderful Dexter it always amazes me how deep some of these locks are. Some are only a foot deep and summer 10 foot deep. Those caves houses was incredible. Hi Paul, Anthony and Dexter. What a lovely Vlog again this week. I noticed on the shot of Paul walking up some stairs towards Dexter that the image looked really steady (walking up the steps). Has Paul got a counter balance (Fluid-type) head on his camera mount? It was an impressive shot. Dexter is so kool with his Dad giving him a hair cut. The Kinver Edge Caves were very interesting. The wooden Maiden (Clothes Horse) in one of the rooms was exactly the same as the one we had at home when I was very young. I chuckled when you turned left on the canal, both you and Paul counter balanced (as you would on a bike) and leaned the other way. The sandstone wall on the side of the canal was stunning. Anthony regarding your fitness regime, I had noticed that you had been doing most of the locks in recent Vlog(s). Well done. Sensible idea to run the stagnant water off. I do that first thing in the morning. I loved the scene where Paul assists Dexter onto the boat talking to him so sweetly 1-2-3 here we go, and Dexter then jumped on the boat. I'd love to see Paul feed Dexter with a spoon, and I wonder if Paul would say something like "Chugga chugga choo choo! Here comes the train" as he fed Dexter the food. Anthony, sorry you were losing your sense of Humour re: The Bow/Stern thrusters. I feel your anguish. I am certainly a morning person these days. Thank you for another excellent and enjoyable Vlog. What enchanting scenery. Was that pine trees I saw at one point? (I don't usually associate those as being in England!). There was one brief shot that was almost like a painting: the moon with rings of light around it in the mist on the water. The cave houses were so interesting! (I wonder if the people who lived there came to regret leaving them? I think I might.) Your little silver heater looked so interesting–modern yet homey with the flames. And that one lock had such a TALL gate looming up! Thanks for sharing all this with us. I hope you three have a wonderful week.

Night owl here! I'm retired, so I don't have to keep anybody else's schedule, thank goodness! For my dogs' sakes, I get up in time to feed them around 8 in the morning: nap time (for me & them) is about half past 11 a.m.! 🙂💖🌟
I’m a morning person. Up at 6 am, cup of tea then out with the dogs. Early to bed though. We walk our dogs on the Rochdale canal towpath which is only a couple of minutes away from where we live.

I hear you on the lark and owl thing. My wife is an annoying morning person who bounces out of bed at stupid-o-clock at least an hour before dawn, if not two. As a result she is asleep by 9:30/10:00pm and sleepy long before that. I'm an owl, so try as I might I can't get to sleep before midnight and 2:00 is more common. This means we are only in bed together for about 3 to 4 hours a night.

Very defin itely night owls in this house. Never in bed before 1am and get up eventually around 9am. Retired now so it is bliss to be slow in the morning. Moan like hell if we have to get up and go for appointments etc 😛
