It has always been a dream of mine to create my own MTB trail spot and I can finally say that it’s going ahed! I plan to create a MTB facility full of dirt jump trials, Slopestyle jumps, EMTB trails, training features, wooden kickers, mulch jumps that will hopefully create the dream compound training facility.

So sad! As you said it’s hard to inspire people if such stupid decisions are made. Young people stay too much indoor with phones, laptops and consoles. They should enjoy more outdoor. There should be freedom on private land.

They hate sport minded .alberta in general no top notch bike park .it gas burning motors only ..that all fort mcmurray has made ..suncor spend millions to get rid of a small trail on there pipline hill here .city spend money on signs telling us to crash into one another ,,nothing but hate toward healthy habits here .corrupt and backward as it gets
Should you and Sam move to a county that is more supportive with MTB jumps and parks etc. Bring MTB tourism and free advertising to a place that deserves it.

It’s not really farmed is it. The land looks like scrub land. I think as long as you wasn’t having loads of people down, there, didn’t see what the problem was. Shame it’s gone. you’ll have to set up an airbag and ramp in the council car park and throw some tricks instead regularly.

Alternative opinion:
Maybe people like you and Sam should get together and actually start a public bike park? There are plenty of other people that could never have places like this to ride as they simply can't afford to even start it. So we're left with whatever we can get away with building in local woods, or travelling to the nearest bike park.
In my case, my local is Leeds Urban, which is in DESPERATE need of some professional attention to redesign/repair it.
Berm Peak is a great example of someone building something really awesome to give back to the biking community.

The only things that are allowed are the things you have to pay taxes on. Beers, restaurant, cigarettes. Inspiring people doesnt pay taxes. But if we have a new generation that has no passions, full of anger and bored to death is also because of this failing system. I'm so sorry tom, i hope you'll be able to find something better!

It's not a public bike park thou is it, it's on private land and not open to the public, it's only for your use?, So why do you need a licence. Also nothing is permanent no foundations and everything can be taken down so why do you need planing permission?
The UK as a whole generally promotes obesity and a sedentary lifestyle. Things like fast food restaurants easily get planning permission, yet many outdoor places have a massive battle to get anything.
This is one of the many reasons why we have such an obesity problem in this country.
It’s capitalism at the end of the day, get people to buy buy buy, get them sick, then you can sell sell sell them drugs and treatments to keep them in the system , to make more money.
I doubt that Essex Country Council could afford to prosecute, they are probably going to declare bankruptcy any day soon!!

i'm sure one of your local farmers would sell you an achre of land so that you and sam pilgrim can club together and build your own compound like matt jones did well he brought the whole farm like but an achre of land is a start
A great video, mate and respect to you for trying so hard to get something done in your area that's organic and inspires kids to become involved in healthy activities! Also for keeping your composure about this! I'm sad for you that it's almost as if they'd let you build it BEFORE they made you tear it down! As an ex forces served, life long mountain biker and now small boat sailor, with a small family, this country has become a 'get back in your box and be quiet' kind of a place. Happily planning my retirement somewhere else. All the best for the future and hope you can once again make this happen for yourself and the next generation!
