    2. Congratulations on the 10,000 members mark!!
I've throughly enjoyed this latest story, Hitlers last POW.
I like to read along with the transcripts, and I find it perplexing that the AI voice will suddenly pronounce all vowels long for a paragraph, then go back to recognizing English rules of speaking.
Its almost like it forgets what it's doing and just plows ahead.
But keep up finding these great war diaries.

    3. Once being a fugitive myself, it’s hard to imagine was goes through one’s mind. Mostly the punishment is going to be far greater than it was. Also the fact of embarrassment to new friends. You wear it believing it’s an ill fitting suit.

    4. For those interested in WWII History there is an excellent lecture by SCIS Why The German Army Fought Till The End. So much insight from the author who read the actual in German language accounts. He is a sitting professor & part of the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. Well worth the hour & 20 minutes.

    5. 8 million illegals cross US border and the FBI could NOT give a shit….but the FBI wanted to go after an upstanding man who was not on welfare and was a productive member of society. What is wrong with this picture? My, how things change!

    6. Growing up the the Bay Area, born in 1953, I can remember how things were back then. There were growing new communities everywhere. Prosperity and diversity for many families. The communities are now 70 years old and too expensive for most my generations children to afford. California's weather and natural beauty is still a wonderful place to live as long as you have a little extra time and money to enjoy it.

    7. I believe growing up in a totalitarian country that kept meticulous records additionally being in the service added to his anxiety over filling out forms. Anyone agree?

    8. I have property in Deming, I probably remodeled the very ww2 pow barrack that in 2023 is the human society of Luna County.
Many of those old buildings still stand and are used. Amazing . During the remodel, i found newspaper wadding from a previous remodel in the early 60s, cant wait to hear how the wife takes the POW news? Never heard a word of this story in Deming. He may have walked on my rural property south of town during his escape? No, he hopped a train for California on the I-10 corridor . Small world .

    9. North side Berkeley on Euclid Avenue. La Vals was on both the north side and south side, of campus, and I had been in both starting 1977-81. Remember Northside and Cal Camera. Picture looks to be around the early 70s given that beat up 68 Pontiac GTO.

    10. La Val's is still in business. Oakland and Frisco have degenerated into filthy cesspools under decades of Democratic party rule. I grew up in Hayward and wonder if he supplied the doors for my parents post war tract home. I remember when he surrendered to the fed bois. It was a huge story at the time.

    11. I think its crasy he got married at a city i lived in, walked on streets ive walked, been through towns along California ive traveled. Looking forward to see how his story ends!

    12. Interesting/informative/entertaining. Is that his ( VW ) bug in front of the North Side theater??? I honestly think parts of this audio book are some what " Emblished ".
