Situated below the Great Orme limestone headland, Llandudno West beach looks over Conwy Sands.
The large expanse of shallow water here makes the beach an attractive spot for kitesurfing and extensive sands at low tide create good conditions for kite bugging.

The sea area offshore is designated under the Menai Strait and Conwy Special Area of Conservation, whilst the bathing water also lies in the Aber Afon Conwy Site of Special Scientific Interest.

What is Llandudno West Shore Beach like?
West Shore Beach is, as you might expect, on the west coast of the town, just on the other side of the Great Orme. This sea shore is ideal for those wanting a quieter walk along the shoreline, with picturesque views of the Conwy Estuary and Snowdonia in the distance.

We’re talking clean sand, dunes, clear water and free parking.
Llandudno West Shore Beach is a sandy beach, making it popular with holidaymakers.

This is a stark contrast to its northerly brother — the North Shore Beach — instead of stones, you will find endless amounts of sand, with towering sand dunes. The beach itself faces toward Conwy Bay where low tide boasts a large stretch of sand, which is great for both kite-flyers and kite-surfers.

It’s also well-known for its breathtaking sunsets
