Well I’ve ranted enough today, way too much I think and this is where my brain really starts to hurt. 500 miles in one day with no sleep over the last 40 hours is staring to take its toll.

I’m only 150 miles away from my intended destination Limoges but as the sun drops in the sky so does my ability to stay alert and navigate. Not sure if it was the 38c heat or the lack of sleep and the whiteline fever but with no satnav I reached my mental limit and had to stop for a much earned break.

I shut my eyes for about 1 hour in a remote pitch black part of France and then drank some energy drink and ate some jelly sweets and this really helped me to continue the journey.

After seeking help for a French Trucker I managed to plan a routeand arrived at my intended stop at about 1:45 AM , I had traveled for over 15 hours at a average speed of about 35 MPH!

The bike was not really suited to motorway speeds and I wanted to see more of France and avoid the toll fee’s so I certainly achieved this. The Transalp served me well not missing a beat and only needed fuel stops and the drive chain adjusting.

I did the first 150 miles with another bike group and certainly kept up with them doing 70-80MPH but really 60 MPH was a more comfortable cruising speed for the old tranny. Fuel economy was great at around 60MPG and boy did I see so many great villages and boy did my ears and ass ache! Thanks Tranny !!!!!
