And for our Battle of the Somme motorcycle tour in France we chose Arras: the beautiful, atmospheric and cosy city with a moving history as our central point. Although we were not able to do all the highlights, we really enjoyed staying in and exploring Arras during our stay here for the Battle of the Somme motorcycle tour. And its all even more impressive once you know that 80% of the city has been destroyed during all the fighting of WWI. And the riding to and from the actual Somme Valley is very – maybe surprisingly – nice as well, of course with many memorials on the Great War as these were the main battlefields.
