  1. It is irresponsible of GCN to show by example riding in dark clothes at night. No reflective vest. No high visibility colors. Foolish. Illegal in France (strictly enforced). The marketing department at big bike companies (Specialized esp.) promoted this dark-clothes-are-trendy idea.

  2. Well done Ollie
Got to say, it doesn't look too nice a route to cycle, once you hit the coast, huge amounts of traffic on a busy windy road.

  3. I have, and still ride, a Vitus 979, like Sean Kelly did in the 80s. The gearing is painful when compared with today's technology, but it's a very comfortable bike.

  4. Hello GCN! Love your content. Your videos have always been composed of beautiful shots and great imagery. Don't you consider switching to 4K? I'd love to watch it at a higher resolution, it would be a great upgrade in my opinion.

  5. Does Vitus offers the rim brakes version of the bicycle? Because disc brakes absolutely ruined the look of this bicycle.

  6. Why would anyone ride this route on open roads on a weekday? 300km of traffic lights, busy junctions, roundabouts, pedestrian crossings, white vans and narrow streets full of traffic. Seriously? Get help!

  7. You know I had heard of prime wheels and I was genuinely gonna order some but I was skeptical. Now that I’ve seen them on a GCN video I may just snag them.

  8. Thank you for making this video, I really enjoyed it. As a teenager in the 80s, I dreamed of being a pro. Riders like LeMond, Hampsten, and the 7-Eleven team especially fueled those dreams. As you might guess, I am American. As you might also have guessed, turning pro is not as easy as you might hope, and I was nowhere close to doing so. Living vicariously through videos such as this gives me hope for at least riding the same course some day.

  9. Pro bike races are too long . They become very boring after awhile . maybe have one day of a very long ride and then keep the rest of the rides to under 100km. there would be much more action in the form of breakaways and faster longer sprints ?
