      This seems like another Euro-centric decision that will inhibit the global growth of the sport. Once you get a couple of management levels removed, you have people making strategic decisions who probably don't understand the sport.

      Massive loss for cycling fans. The confusing part is why they shut down GCN+ so soon after acquiring it. Seems like a good way to destroy their investment

      I just finished setting up a pc in my basement so I could subscribe – was planning to do it next week and was really looking forward to the upcoming cyclocross that I can't get in the US. I am very sad to hear this, but glad it happened before I sent them money. I have to figure out what I am going to do now…

      It really is too bad. We have little coverage here. No discovery Warner wants to turn their channel into a new cable where you pay for stuff you don’t use. I just want cycling.

      Wow, devastating for all and for US viewers for sure. Demise of the Tour of California, now this! Might FloBikes pick up world tour and pro racing coverage, a terrible platform but I promise to stop complaining and pay top dollar.

      You are right. GCN+ was far too cheap. £40 a year was unbelievable value. Eurosport player is also moving to Discovery+. In the UK, discovery+ is more than twice the price. I am fed up of my life being turned into a subscription model.

      You guys mention that the price was too cheap. I agree it was cheaper than the value and honestly I would be willing to pay double for the same service if it stayed online, and I think many others would too. What we will get from Discovery will be a shell of what we get from GCN+. I liken it to a store that sells a specialty product (GCN+) vs a grocery store that sells that product and 2000 other products (Discovery). To the grocery store, it's just another commodity. Sad news indeed.

      I only paid for GCN+ to watch the UCI Mountain Bike series. The GCN+ app / and the website were horrible, and really didn't have enough of other stuff to keep me watching It outside the UCI MTB races.

      Not perfect.. have a lot, but don't have everything.. but Flo… at least in Canada is pretty good… road and pretty good coverage of cyclocross…

      Things are very ominous right now…but if there is any glimmer of hope…back in the day when OLN was bought by Discovery, they continued to broadcast all the GT's in the US. Phill Ligget, Paul Sherwin, and Bob Roll all commented on Discovery. Eventually NBC got the rights to broadcast all the GTs and other ASO races and things didn't really change. As far as access to all the CX, MTB, and all the other WT races…there's no really access here in North America. Totally sucks.

      Benji was so close. The nail was hit on the head. Discovery saw that the nail was going in the GCN coffin. I am broken 💔. There will be a void vacume for fan centered content. Thanks for all Ya'll do! Do not go away please…

      Did Discovery plus buy a VPN or something? Force all of us outside of Europe to get that so we can keep watching all the races.

      Great chat guys a lot of valid points made 👏🏻👏🏻 I’m absolutely gutted with the news!!! I found the app very handy for watching cycling when your away from your tv like at a hotel or at a family member’s house that don’t have Eurosport 😒🙄 also the app was a fantastic for Documentaries! Visiting x pros was especially good!! Anyway I think Discovery wanted them to build up the app for transferring over to their own app….. that time has come??

      You would thing that discoveryWB had a alternative plan ready, with a similar offer, for the let down clients, like a discovery+ app, for similar or higher price? A lot of us would jump on that in a heartbeat 🤷‍♂️

      It's not going to be cheaper in Germany! We paid 39,99 Euro for GCN+. On Discovery+ we will have the choice between 39,99 WITH commercials or 59,99 WITHOUT commercials …

      The last time i paid it was £40 UK a year. Amazing value. I am not into this Discovery plus. I moved to GCN plus from Eurosport! Thats gone as well.

      Oh cone on guys, organise your thoughts. You are making Warner Bros look like masterminds in comparison when you should be highlighting their chaotic lack of forethought and strategy, their contemptuous disregard for staff and loyal customers and their obviously brutal subservience to a spreadaheet bottom line somewhere.
      Where will all those films be hosted or available? What is plan for coverage of racing? Why isn't a pathway set up for smooth transition now and promoted before closure announced? Never mind bundling making it 'cheaper' for subscibers, bundling is surely bad for consumers who have to pay for a whole lot of shite they don't want just to get what they do want – but it's better than nothing. The really worrying thing is that this obvious lack of a plan shows they dont rate this content at all. At least you did stumble across that in your aimless wittering. Remember Warner is the company tbat just binned a whole completed $70m film for a tax write-off. I mean cynical does not even begin to describe their attitude to anyone other than shareholders.

      I had to read the email twice before it was clear it was really going to happen, completely ruined my day.. In the evening I was thinking: should I start binge-watching the documentaries I have not seen yet? Can you download them (nope)? What will happen to the docu's? So should I switch? I don't want the other sports on offer, just the cycling… It all sucks
