The protest ride to demand more, safer cycle lanes in the city of Brighton & Hove was expected to attract a hundred children and adults on bicycles.
But so many people recognise how important it is to have better, safer cycling routes across the city that *three times as many* turned up, some as young as 4 years old, others in their 70s.
They all pedalled through the town and spread the message that people on bicycles are road users and that, if the Council is serious about making Brighton & Hove a better place for everyone, it has to stop prevaricating and build more cycle lanes now.
Tis first major Kidical Mass in Brighton & Hove, on Saturday 23 September 2023, was organised by local cycling campaign group Bricycles, the Hove cycle-to-school advocates Old Shoreham Road Bike Train and the community bicycle workshop Brighton Bike Hub, with funding from Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival.
