Wanted to get out on the bike both days this weekend and get some decent miles done in preparation for an upcoming Audax, but Sunday’s weather was looking pretty dreadful here in the Pennines. The best option was to head east and try and ‘beat the rain’.

We almost succeeded! Happy cycling folks!

    1. I recognised every single inch of your ride. Go up in to the Wolds the next time you're in the area. Pocklington is a great starting point.
Living in Selby, I have to cycle 30 minutes in any direction before the landscape gets remotely interesting.

    2. Good call heading to the plain. It's always 'half a season better' than the Pennines!!
Once my dad reached his mid-70s he used his car to access that area for most of his autumn/winter roadwork – far safer for ice, fog, windchill etc

    3. Looks like a great route, don’t suppose you would be willing to share the GPX file? Quite fancied cycling in that area having lived outside of Goole when younger and worked south of York I know the area pretty well.
