In this video we explore the Monsal Trail. Its an old disused railway line and we explore it on the Cyrusher Kommoda E-Bike. The Monsal trail used to be the Midland railway one of the main railway routes across the Pennines in the North of England. It is now a cycle trail. This route goes through the Peak district. It takes in some stunning railway architecture. Railway tunnels and railway viaducts all along the river Wye. We also see the remnants of the Buxton Limestone industry. This is one of Britains finest cycleways

    1. Great video Sir.
James is a star in the making, and very wise in wearing a safety helmet on that rocket propelled bicycle. health and safety apart, the scenery is stunning and the railway architecture speaks for itself. Thank you for evoking some truly magnificent memories of our wonderful railway heritage.
I challenge you to bake some home made pastries for the refreshment section of your next video. Come on. Get baking. Let's see some Manchester tart coming out of the tuck box. Some Parkin or some bonfire toffee.

    2. What a lovely day out , countryside and beautiful infrastructure, very cool . Absolutely loved the second station and that pic of the viaduct construction is mind blowing 🤯😍😍
Love the bike and it’s in our channel colours 😏🟧⬛️🤙🏽🤙🏽🧱👍🏼

    3. Really interesting Martin and thanks for the Hadden Hall reminder. I saw that video a while ago. Amazing to think what the tunnellers had to go through. Getting an e-bike too! Convinced 👍. Nice one rkid

    4. If you're thinking of doing the Tissington trail to Ashbourne, then start at Ashbourne, as it's slightly uphill to Parsley Hay. My son and I recently did it, a nice enjoyable ride to Ashbourne we thought, easy peasy…. until the return journey 😮
Monsal trail is good but can get very busy with walkers and cyclists are all over the place not heeding "keep to the left" .

    5. Brilliant video Martin and gang. Thanks very much. I hope to see you guys exploring the Tissington Trail soon. If I remember it actually has a station in common with the Monsel Trail too.
Anyway, thanks again for the great content.

    6. Great video as usual but please be careful of the e-bike battery charging! See your link and battery charging advice in the company web site. Best regards from Oz.

    7. Did you have yer passports with you ,we went there as young lads 40 yrs ago there was a pub Anglers Rest as soon as they heard my Manchestoh accent it was get out we don’t serve you people here there was another pub near by same thing the jungle telegraph was working well that night.

    8. If you're ever back down that way Martin there's an old mine you can access in Bakewell just off Holme Lane by Holme Hall. It's In a bit of a crevasse and the temperature drops massively as you approach the entrance its worth checking out.

    9. Regarding the helmets: would you wear a helmet when driving a car for regular travel and not racing? No. It's the same for a bike: helmets are for racing, and if you just casually riding your bike, you don't need a helmet. Riding a bike on a road with cars, a helmet could make them drive more dangerously because they think you are protected.

    10. That looked a lot easier than when I walked it a few years ago. All the tunnels weren't open and I had to climb down the stepping stones then climb over each tunnel to follow the route. It was a full days walk.

    11. When ever you buy an electronic item it will come party charged and should be fully charged before use and it is advisable not to run it below 15/10% as you risk damaging the batteries

    12. I’ve cycled the Mondale trail a couple of times and found a lot of walkers are aggressive towards cyclists, blocking their way, refusing to stand aside etc.
